Hot water tank filling.

First camper. How do I fill my hot water tank after the campers water system has been drained. Do I fill my tank then turn on the pump?

Yes,
The easiest way is to put water in your fresh water holding tank.
Make sure the valves are all turned the correct way on your water tank and turn the pump on.
It will take a few minutes, but when your pump shuts off, the tank will be filled.
That is the way I have done it for years.

Agree with markb5900... I like to connect to city water pressure and purge all the air from both cold and hot, shower, toilet, and all sinks. Then fill the fresh water tank. shut the city water pressure off and listen for the pump to start. If not started (make sure it is turned on. lol..) then run the sink water and listen again. Make sure it stops pumping when the water is turned off. Then turn on the water heater.

To double check that your hot water tank is full, bleed the hot water blow off valve until water piddles out. Then its full.

The temp is set by the limit control. Only way to raise the temp is to buy a higher temp limit switch. How it works is the limit reaches it set temp and open and shuts the electric or burner off. It's non adjustable. They do sell higher temp limit switches at RV stores. You would need two (1) electric and (1) 12 volt side. EBAY has 2 130 degree and 140 degree, for $25.95 each

Hot water tank filling.

You won't need the electric temp limit switch for your A-frame, just the 12v one; it has a gas-only water heater, not a gas/electric one.

I agree with Don. Filling the hot water heater is last on my de-winterizing checklist. I always sanitize my fresh water lines; then fill the hot water tank from the sanitized fresh water tank using the on board pump.

Wait 24 hours and drain the system completely. Refill and go camping.
