Dave! Good to see you're still on the forum. I was under the impression you were going to sell your pointy palace-?

Deb, Time will tell whether I mangle the camera or not. It's several inches above the hitch level, though, so maybe it's in a safe zone. I cling to that hope anyway....

New Peak Wireless Back Up Camera System with 4 3" Color LCD Monitor PKCOBU4 | eBay

We bought two of these this past week (from Advance Auto, not ebay) and have one installed on the TV, the other is going on *my* Jeep . He's gonna buy a third one to put on the back of the TT to monitor traffic behind us.

He installed the one on the TV right there in the RV park, tried it out yesterday when we hitched up to come home. All I had to do was stand there and say STOP when he was over the ball. Nice! One shot at it, no pulling forward and backing again.

We bought these because the guy across from us in the park had it on his TV and showed us how great it works, and how simple it is to install.

I like that the camera becomes almost unseen being connected to the top of the license plate, and the option for it to only activate when you put your vehicle in reverse.

Where did you install the monitor? That took a lot of trial positioning for me, though I think I'll like where I put it.

I had seen that unit at the Advance Auto Parts store but my cheap side won out and I ordered the unit from Amazon. It's great that yours was so easy to install. Thanks for posting so others will know the one you got is a good product.

I hope to have the same easy time of it, just backing up to the hitch and dropping it on. We'll see: two week trip coming up!

Installing backup/hitch camera

I just finished setting up a wireless backup camera. I plan to mostly use this for hitching and backing up the trailer. Instead of installing the camera permanently to the TV, I use a butterfly LED work light case to mount it via magnets. Here are pics to show the setup.

There are 3 places of the magnets to put it on a metal spot of the TV

Perfect rear view for mounting, the monitor is easy to take off and store in the side pocket hidden

From the rear of the TT, the wireless signal is strong enough to get to the monitor inside the TV

Since the monitor and all its parts are on when in use, I could see the rear view going forward/backward to make fine adjustments.

I ordered a wired camera for $15, I plan to install it permanently to the TV; my 7" video monitor has 2 video input which is perfect for this application.
