Your photo put a thought in my head. Ya, that sometimes leads to trouble, but we'll let that pass. If the lights are too bright, would a piece of black tape attached directly to the LED strip dim them sufficiently? It wouldn't, of course, correct the color, so there is still a good reason to mod them with new bulbs.

You know, that's a good idea! I still have the interrogation model over the dinette. I thought about painting the inside of the cover, but tape might be easier.

Do you think the LED would be too hot? The color is okay, but on the white side.

I'll play with it this weekend.

Thanks!

DK. It could be a problem, but if it damages a bulb that is going to be otherwise replaced, then it is of little consequence. My camper is older and originally had the heat lamps which I replaced with LEDs, so it is more curiosity on my part.

I never liked how bright the LED lights are on the walls, when DW turns one on there's momentary blindness and I worry about leading aircraft off course, so I replaced them with something dimmer and warmer.QUOTE]

X2
My A128S has two newer style LED ceiling lights...they are much too intense and commercial quality for comfort, especially when coming in from the dark. It was easy to remove the existing light and replace with a warmer and less intense LED panel.

Not as Easy

Our A122S (2014) has them soldered in. Not as easy to replace but worth it. You are right, they are too commercial and cold-looking.

Going out this weekend and bringing some of that temporary tail-light tape in red. Don't know what DW will say about the red but it beats the color of the stock lights.
