Interior trash receptacle for A Frame

I didnt want to lose floor space for a trash can inside & Since counter space is sparse, I wanted a small receptacle to fit behind the stove. This meant the bags also had to be small (and cheap)...

I >>was<< going to create a custom designed trash receptacle....but when I got to Hobby Lobby, I discovered this black metal container (there were lots of colors to pick from!). I picked it up and figured since it was 40% off ($3.60 my cost) I might use this instead...I did pick up art supplies but this container was just the right size for the dog poop bags that I keep on hand (see blue roll on shelf & unfolded bag on stove)

This is sure to solve the inside trash issue I had last summer. What do the rest of you do/use?

I use a square simple human can. It goes up on the counter above the microwave against the wall. It's easy to get to inside or out and the dogs don't get into it. Plus I love having a lid over it. Of course they aren't cheap(which is what you were going for) but the darn thing will outlive the trailer.

I really like the look of those cans (still have the one from my travel trailer) This time around, I was seeking a can/container to fit in the 6" space behind the stove....buuut now I am wondering - For those who do use an interior trash bag/can in your A Frame, where do you keep it?

LOL On another note, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday and end up buying "who knows what" gadgets that I hope will work for our trailer comfort needs....that imaginative purchase was with Deb's (gregory) suction cup ideas in mind....cha ching haha

I generally just hang a plastic shopping bag from the knob on the door just under the sink. It'll never make the photo section of Better Homes and Gardens but it's pretty much out of the way and holds plenty of garbage.

That's way better than what I did last summer! I used a paper bowl or plate sitting on top of the kitchen sink until one of us tossed it in the garbage outside.

Mickeylind reminded me about the 'Simple Human' brand can that I kept when I sold the Jayco TT...so whaddya know, it actually fits behind the stove! It works after all...sigh....to think I never even thought it would. So much for assuming.

I learned my lesson about putting garbage in the same type of receptacle I eat from (you know how sometimes you've got your nose buried in a good book and you idly reach across without looking,, for that next bit of sandwich or cheese and cracker and then...AGGG! gross! spit! spit!).

Is that little garbage can behind the stove big enough to be worth while?
It sure looks a lot better than a plastic bag hanging from a door.

Don, yes! It is actually made to hold plastic grocery bags. The plastic bag handles loop around the receptacle handles to hold it in place. At the time I bought it, I liked it so much, I purchased a second one for my master bathroom. Its a great can, I am surprised that I never considered it for the A Frame.

Hmm... maybe I'll have a look around for one.
I spend so much time showing off the A-Frame to other campers, it pays to keep the place spruced up.

I think we need one of these (and we don't even have the A-Frame yet). Do you know what size it is? We're having fun getting ready for picking up the A-Frame and first camping trip at the end of the week.

Too bad you're way in California...I'm in MI. I have one you can HAVE.
Guess I'll sell it at garage sale. Doesn't hold bags well and they fall out of slots and you get garbage in the can. Don't hold much, so a milk container can pretty much fill it. The swing over handle (to help hold bag in place) doesn't help hold bag in place any better, but get in way when removing the trash. I just hate the thing.

The can pictured is 6" deep, 12" tall and 12" long. I havent had the problem of the bag falling into the can or off the handles but I do see that Simple Human jas a diff design in this size can; it looks sleeker and has a cover over the lip of the can so that it is not visible - def much more attractive for a small trash can.

There is only a 6" depth behind the stove, between the lid hinges, if you decide you want to have a can in that spot. This is why I wondered where others were putting their interior trash bags and what receptacle worked for them? I will still keep the small black can, it might come in handy down the road...no pun intended
