Any repairs anywhere will be paid by them over the phone to the service shop, not like me paying first then make a claim.
Which company is this warranty from?

Extended Warranty Note

Hi Folks. Just a quick note on the extended warranty offered by Forest River. My dealer also had not offered the coverage. Recently, I called FR directly and spoke with a nice gentleman in their warranty department. I explained that our A122 was about 10 months old, but I'd be interested in applying for the optional coverage. The warranty department did some checking, emailed us the form, and I'm sending it back this week. If anyone in our A Frame community is interested in extending their warranty at a reasonable cost (as described above by D-Mo and Handbuilder), I think it would be worth a shot to call FR.

Itís been almost a year of ownership ... we love camping in our A122! Have not posted much recently, but I continue to be an avid reader of this entertaining and enlightening forum! Thanks, everyone.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information on warranties. A few days ago I called FR and talked to Sam in the warranty department about the optional warranty extension that several mentioned in this thread. He asked if my dealer mentioned the optional warranty and I said no, just the expensive plan (sigh). Maybe FR should make sure their dealers inform customers about this option. A one time fee of $100. seems very reasonable to cover a variety of the camper components. It is a lifetime warranty as long as the camper stays with the original owners.
BTW, we did our very first trip on April 9th to Punderson State Park (Ohio) and all went well. There was only one other camper there (he was gone all day because he was working in the area), so we felt very comfortable making our first time mistakes. We had a great time and can't wait for the weather to improve so we can get out again.
Happy camping everyone!

Did you do the transaction over the phone? I'm planning to call FR next week.

They can either fax or email the form to you. Then just mail it back to them with a check.

Consumer Reports has argued for years and years that extended warranties are bad deals for consumers. They are, however, wonderful profit generators for the seller!

Good luck,
Martin
