Is furnace function correct??

I have been camping up in Montana with some cooler mornings requiring a little heat, more than the heat pump can handle. When I run the propane furnace, the heat pump fans also, blowing what feels like cold air from outside. Is it normal for the heat pump fan to run when the propane furnace is running? None if my other rv's had a heat pump, so I am not sure if this is normal.
Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony. Your fan setting on your thermostat is likely set to "Low" or "High". Set it to "Auto", and you should see the Cool Cat fan staying off when the furnace is running.

The Cool Cat recirculates the inside air and in normal operation does not have any way to draw a significant amount of air in from the outside. However if the camper is cool inside the blowing air will feel even colder. There seems to be some differences in the thermostats from year to year, so if you can put the year and model of your camper and TV in your signature, it will help people to help you.

Good point, Pooneil. I made the assumption that because he was a new owner it was a new camper. Rookie mistake.

At least it is helpful to those of us with short attention spans. Wojo, you mentioned setting the thermostat to "Auto." Other too have mentioned this setting but my thermostat has no auto setting. Is yours different from mine shown below?

That's how mine looks. I set the mode to "Fan" then use the +/- buttons to switch between Low/High/Auto.

I see, that is good to know. I just checked and mine has been on Auto, cycling on and off with the AC or heat pump function.
