LED Lighting Mod

Hi everyone. After three camping trips I decided I needed to do something with the lights. At nighttime the standard lights in the camper our way to bright. I ordered a set of warm white LED strip lights. I mounted them on the top of the wall opposite the door. I wired them in Through a switch by the front door. I then changed the single switch that lights up the floor light and put in a double higher-end switch. I can now turn on the indirect LED lighting right when I walked in the camper. The entire project cost me $30 and about two hours of work.

It creates a really nice warm white indirect lighting.

Have a great day!

Very similar to what I did last year. I love the light strips. The done lights rarely get turned on now, usually only to light the way to bed or quickly find something at dusk in a dark corner.

Once its dark, the led light strips provide all the light needed, and draw much less surrey than just one standard bulb, and no heat.

Did you use one of the led line connector clips to wire into the tape strip or is there another method?

This dimmer control looks interesting as well....

The LED strip I purchased had the connector built right onto it. All I needed to do was splice the red and black wire to the positive and negative through a switch. I thought about using a dimmer but decided not to. The dimmer you referenced was too big and bulky for this application. It would not have looked as nice as the simple switch. The LED brightness is perfect just the way it is. It really did not need to be dimmed that all.

Found this, for under $3 figure it's worth trying.

Very nice, thanks to both of you for the links.
Now this mod has Gary rethinking our install and the switch we used...
Ah, hind sight!
