Leveling

I am new to owning a A214HW trailer starting our 5th stay. I have a very unlevel site. I can't seem to get the trailer totally level. I have it level front to back, but side to side is off a couple of degrees.

Does it have to be perfect?

Does not have to be perfect if you dont mind sleeping at an angle. Ive done that a time or two. If you have ac make sure it drains

What are you using to level?
I hope it isn't the stabilizers.

Get thyself to Walmart and pick up a container of Leveler blocks (orange Lego blocks that go under your tires). About $30 for 10, comes with a carry container. If you don't already have them, pick up 4 plastic chocks, too.

To make things even easier, I leveled my A-frame in the garage, and then installed a "calibrated" bubble level across the front, down near the frame. Each number off center happens to correspond to 1 Lego block on the low side.

I back the A-frame into position, read the level, add the specified number of blocks on the low side behind the tire, and back the tire on to the blocks. A-frame is now level side-to-side. Unhook and level fore-and-aft with the tongue jack. Pop up the A-frame and then put down the stabilizers down. Stabilizers just touch the ground (or Lego block) plus 1/4 turn.

Most public campsites need 1-2 orange blocks to level. I use the rest under the tongue jack and stabilizers to reduce cranking and increase stability.

I used the bal leveler as well when when had a pup. I now use an Anderson level and it is great!

I also use a BAL leveller with great results. Are you just not able to get it high enough to level? Unless you're at a crazy angle, the BAL shouldn't have any trouble.

Most folks will never notice a degree or two.
Won't hurt a thing.

We have these thing that are probably the same as the ones from Walmart but ours doesn't carry them. We bought ours from the dealership that sold us the trailer. As for leveling... I use an app on my phone that works great. I place my phone on the roof before I raise it and level it that way. Works very well.

I use the method of watching the leveler on the front of the trailer through the rear window of my truck while I move it forward and back. I often have to go back and forth a few times before I get it right. I guess this is far from an ideal method, but for some reason I just haven't been able to get myself to invest in leveling blocks!

We use the BAL leveler for the side to side. You're not going to get it perfectly level. We also have a HW214

I have an A122BH and have been using pieces of wood to level, which works. I got tired of the backing and pulling up so I purchased the BAL leveler and single axle tire chock. After using these I find them easy to use and they do the job really well! I recommend them very highly!

Try the Anderson Leveler. On Amazon for $42. I used these from the start so I can't compare to others. The Anderson's are easy to use and fool proof.

Are all of you using self adhesive levels or screw on. I am loathe to put holes in my 213hw, but the stick ons don't hold up in the heat.

I only put one self-adhesive level just above the frame on the front of my A122. It's been there since 2014 without issue.

the BAL Leveler is a great choice for a single axle trailer, and it is ideal(and easy) for getting the level "perfect", .... the screw is what makes it so easy and precise, if the bubble isn't centered on whatever type of level device you use, then move it with the screw until it is, ....

I used the BAL Leveler on our Casita(single axle) and liked it so much that when we replaced it with a dual axle Micro Lite 21DS, I bought another one and used them on each axle, .... it was a heavy load for the BAL's but worked, ... when we replaced the 21DS with our 25KS, I went to the Andersen Leveler, .... there are several advantages to using the BAL, one being, .... if you're on soft ground and you lose level after a day or two because of it, you can tweak it with the BAL, with other methods once you are disconnected from the TV, then its almost impossible to change your side to side level, ...
