Lost a compartment cover.

I don't know what it is called. There are two on the outside of my A122 that cover the electric source switches and the refrigerator controls. The plastic louvered things that have tabs and rotating buttons that you take off to access those controls. We didn't put one back on correctly, I guess, and got home with one of them missing.

What are they called, and, more importantly, where do you order a new one?

I did a search on this site for the answer but couldn't find anything. I guess it would help if I knew what they were called. I can't believe I would be the first to ever lose one!

I'd say contact whomever built your unit and get a replacement from them. I know you can buy aftermarket doors for water heaters but the plastic vents, not sure about,

It is just a refrigerator vent cover.
Here is what I think you have. Now you just have to contact Forest River Parts department.

Probably a dometic vent and those can be had online, amazon even.

It's a:
fridge vent grate cover, 8 3/4" x 18 3/4", white (our's are white)

After I found out what it was I started looking. I finally ended up at Forest River's website, but could not find a parts department on it. So I just called a number and asked for the parts department. I also asked where the number was on the website because I was perplexed that I could not find it. The guy said, "It's not on the site."

$32.56 plus shipping, "but it won't be much because it doesn't weigh much."

So a $37 lesson to always check the covers before you take off!

These things drive me crazy. Probably just a matter of time 'til I lose one. Not to mention I have to (or at least habitually do) use some force to attach and remove those turn-latches, and it actually has broken the seals/caulking along the outside edge of the black panel/trim. I wish there were a hinged door similar to what the water heater has.

If you guys are worried about losing one attach a tether from the grate to the coach. Make it long enough so it doesn't inhibit entry.

The part came today. It included the frame part that screws to the siding that I didn't need. But it help me figure out how to use some baling wire to affix the cover so it is no longer loose. Of course if it were to come off on the highway it would flip around and probably break off anyway!

Attach a wire tie thru the grating to something in the compartment.

Anyone know where I can get a solid replacement for this? Converted to residential fridge and don't need the venting anymore.

Your residential fridge will be more efficient with the venting than without. Regardless of type of fridge, the heat transferred out of the fridge, and the heat produced by the energy used to do the transfer must go somewhere. Ideally, you want this heat to go outside.

The bill came in a letter today. There was no bill in the box when the part came.
The "won't be much" cost of shipping was actually $17.33, but the price was only $30.64 instead of the $32.56 the girl said on the phone.
