Mattress
Hello
We rarely use the table in our 194A,
So I'm considering a mattress, to make the bed more like a traditional bed. I'm also open to some kinda of mattress topper. So here's what I need: 1 if I decide to go with a traditional mattress what size fits?
2 what kind of options are out there for mattress toppers? 3 I would love to hear from people with an actual A frame, as they're unique in size and layout. It seems that the dinette area is about 54"x 80" , kinda of in between a full and a queen. Thanks in advance for your input

Dimensions for a full size mattress are 54" wide and 75" long so it would fit for the width. You could use the 5 inches at the end for small item storage, small bins or whatever fits in that space.

We used a 8in futon mattress and made a small headboard. It worked good for small things.

We just put a 3" mattress topper over the dinette cushions. Works quite nicely for us, and sleeps comfortably.

There is a place here in Cleveland Ohio, The Original Mattress Company. You can look up their web page. They will build you a mattress to any size you want. I suggest you give them a call.

Well I agree that the mattress factory does indeed have very nice custom mattresses. However at a price tag of around a grand, think I'll go another route. Thanks

What about using an Aero Bed? Inflatable, light weight and very comfortable.

Update!
So thank you D-mo! Like I said earlier I wouldn't have thought of a futon mattress, even though I walk by one in my basement every day. The futon mattress fits perfectly on our bed, and makes a huge difference. If we do need/want the dinette to play cards or eat at during a rain, it's still possible to make it. We just roll it up with sheets and pillows all together, towards the back. It allows us to have a place to sit in each side of the table, we just lose the back bench, and that's fine because there's only two of us. And thanks to all the other people's comments and suggestions, I absolutely love this forum.

We did the same 3" topper and sleep well in our trailer and we take long trips.

Full xl mattress should be the proper size.

We use a 3" topper that folds up, on top of the cushions. Works great and stores easy.
