Question microwave quit

My A122 microwave quit working. Shows time and will accept cooking times, but won't start. How do I remove the microwave to replace?

Before you throw it away consider that it might be a simple door switch or something similar. Does the light go out when you close the door? Try wiggling the door an try to start it.

Once you remove it try a local appliance repair shop before you junk it. I don't know how yours is mounted but mine is bolted through a brace in the overhead cabinet. Removed the thin cabinet floor and screws were visible.

Take it out, remove the back panel. There's a FUSE in there.

If you close the door with just a string in the way (breaking the seal) that fuse will blow. Could be something as simple as that.

I had that happen when the lanyard of an umbrella lying on top of mine years ago....lanyard fell down between the door and the microwave...interrupted that safety seal.

Also had one stop working when I was making divinity candy once. Ran it too long and it overheated. Did exactly what you're describing....once it cooled off it was good to go.

Had a friend of mine throw away a practically brand new one....same issue...fuse blown. I took it apart and replaced the fuse, gave it to my son and DIL.

Hey I tried to tell 'em not to throw it away!

With theirs, they had spilled food on that gasket around the cabinet and door.

With the camper unplugged, remove the four screws on the front cover and slide it out. There is sufficient power cord for it to sit on the floor while you check the fuse.

But before you pull it, do check the latch to make sure it is not improperly signaling the door is open. While RV appliances are more expensive than home units, it still may be cheaper to replace than repair. Call your dealer about the cost and call the manufacturer about other resources.

Try unplugging the MW for several minutes. Plug it back in and try again. Our MW would not work did this procedure and the computer board was reset.
