Missing stove knobs

Does anyone else have a problem with the stove knobs coming off in transit? Every trip I have to look around the camper to find at least one knob so I can make coffee in the morning. I was sure one had permanently disappeared until I was setting up a Guadalupe Mountains NP and found all three in plain site at various places around the camper.

Any one found a solution to the misbehaving knobs?

I have not had any problems with my knobs, but I suggest a pop can shim.

Cut a thin strip and put it in the knob and press it on, if it is to tight cut the strip thinner.

Thanks, Ford. I'll give that a try.

This is the opposite of mine. They are a bear to take off so I can remove the burner cover to retrieve the plastic nuts that hold the glass top to the hinges. The wife has since placed her dish mat over the burners so when the nuts do come loose they are easily retrieved.

A silicone hot pot holder is a good idea to hold the knobs in place too.

I used blue loctite seems to work at least they are failing around in transit. Also might want to balance your tires.

Good idea, I have a bottle in the garage.

I wish the state would get our roads balanced too.

Some stoves have a split in the shaft the knob fits on which can be opened a little. Some have a spring clip in the knob that can be re-bent, otherwise, just squirt some silicone gasket maker in the knob.

That's the wonderful thing about dyslexia, I inserted the "n't" when reading.

Does the 2012 have the newer stove with a glass cover? The clips the hold the metal stove top are very fragile, and the top will bounce up and down while driving. I'm pretty sure that's what pushed the knobs off on my stove.

The dealer replaced the clips once, but they came apart again on the next trip.

The 2012 low wall units have the metal cover that is screwed into the cabinet top. It probably bounces too to make room for the knobs to lift off. I'll try putting a pad over them for my trip to Guadalupe River State Park this weekend and see how it goes.

I would try that blue thread tight. That will harden but you would beable to remove them, don't use the red. I wouldn't put it pass them that they put the wrong knobs on either. You can also try to wrap the post with thin double sided tape.

I got around to looking into the knobs walking off. A screw that holds the stove top down was loose because the clip underneath had come loose. I re-affixed the clip as best I could and put the screw back in. When reassembling, I spread the top of the valve stems, for lack of a better term, so the knob now needs a firm push. Looks like it will hold if the clip holds. If not I'll be back for more advice.
