Mods in progress

I know, I know...pictures or it didn't happen! Pics are coming soon, but since we've been back from Pennsylvania we've been working on a few mods for Carl:
1) sink drain adapter to allow the sink to drain better
2) flag pole to fly Old Glory
3) storage tube for long items
4) wood slats instead of the useless dinette table
5) creature comforts: tiki torches, outdoor mat, new propane grill
6) propane tank cover
7) slide out bed locking thingies (technical term)
8) outdoor lighting (aka, Christmas lights)

Life is good!!!

Absolutely 'Life IS Good' and the little things make it even better, looks like some good work on those mods. Way to go.

Mods look great! I would love a flagpole! I also want to make a small shelf under the table, but so far the table doesnt seem to bug me as much as it annoys others in the Forum...I do note the legs are not placed under the table to give balanced support, waiting for DH to remove and reattach the legs. Any fabrication pointers on the storage tube? I like that idea ever since I pinned it off Pinterest! Glad to 'personally know' someone whose made one! I've missed seeing you in here - so glad to see the cool things you guys have done on Carl!! The tiki torches are pretty snazzy!

Why did you need slide locks on the sofa bed? Did they move in transit? I like pulling it out a few inches and then storing stuff (my pjs, shower kit, slippers, blanket) behind the cushions LOL

Thanks guys!! We're having a great time!

Tamara, the tube is a 4" PVC tube from Lowe's. We cut it so it's just a bit longer than the back camper bumper. Glued on threaded end connectors so we could screw in caps. We secured it to the support using clamps.

The flagpole is from Harbor Freight.

Great deal on Christmas lights at Costco right now. String of 100 LED warm white/colored for $12.99.

Oops...forgot to answer your slide lock question - the bed would slide out during travel. So we put those in just to keep the bed secure between destinations.

Nice mods. Thanks much for sharing. I've been contemplating getting a rigid LP cover. I think your picture clinched it.

contemplate a rigid LP cover as long as your not pulling with a truck with a canoe rack ... this is the 2nd time Ive replaced mine ... updrafts from anything overhanging the back of the truck will levetate the cover off ... and into who knows where ... even if its bungied ...

d-mo ..

I zip tied mine. The bottom of the rigid cover has a place to secure it from lifting off.

If your gas tanks have the auto-switchover function, you might want to put a window in your cover like I did so you can just look in and see if it's swapped over:

Looks great! Just need to see a hammock under the awning & smell the barbeque smoking! Are the tiki torches (candles?) or really torches? or l.e.d. lighting?

They are really torches. Picked them up at Target a couple weeks ago.
