Need new tires

I need to get new tires for my 2011 128 A Frame.
What is the best to go with and where can I get them.
I had one blow out in Canada last summer and it's was $3000 to fix it... what a mess.
Not sure what happened because the tires were at 65 pounds and they looked good.
My mechanic went through it and repacked the bearings before I went on the trip and said the tires had no cracks.

65 psi sounds awfully high. My load range Cs take 50.

If you do a search on the main forum I'm sure you'll learn much about tires.

Good, a tire thread.

Not to hijack, but I too need a new tire. I had a blow out and had to buy an "emergency" tire on the trip to have a spare. I got a 6 ply load C tire. So now that I am home I am in the market to buy a new Load D 8 ply to match the relatively new one on the other side that I bought after my last blow out.

My question is about what tire to use as my spare now. My choices are the brand new load C tire, or keep the existing spare, a seven year old load D tire.

Replace them all.

Suggested tire life is about 5 years, go with the D if you want all around.

Be sure to check the date code BEFORE the tire shop installs them.

That's hard to do when you have to order them. You have to take what comes in. If it's older I don't think they will send it back.

That would be their choice, yours is to not buy them and go else where.

Ask them to try and get the tires from the same lot number.

A 13" Load Range C does not have enough weight capacity for an A-frame. Load Range D is required if you are even reasonably loaded.

The only 13" Load Range D radials I have been able to find are Carlisle and whatever brand name of the month the maker of Westlake tires is using now. My OEM tires were Westlake. You have to hunt around to find this size.

Load Range D tires need 65PSI. FWIW, both the new OEM and the Carlisle tires have a higher speed rating than my older 65 MPH rated ST tires.

I just ordered 3 tires for $139 free shipping. I talked to them and he said it's coming straight from the manufacturer so they should be newer. He said I can send them back if they aren't.

Good!

And they are likely coming from a warehouse here in the US.

Ask to check the date codes BEFORE you pay for them.

Walmart is going order the Carlisle load D tire for me. Carlisle part #6H04521. Cost $39 each.
So I ordered two and won't use either of the two I was trying to decide on for the spare. $39 is cheap enough for piece of mind.

Thanks Tipper,
You made me do some research since The Walmart tire you listed is labeled as 175/80R13 96M! And I found out that 96M = Load range D or 1570 lbs per tire.

More options are always better.

I had them installed today. With all the charges and tax and everything, $68 each.
I checked the date on the tire too. Second week of 2017...Fresh!
