The only time the propane/CO detector has gone off was the very first time I used the water heater. I of course quit using the water heater immediately, and reset the alarm. There was another Rockwood A-frame in the campground, and I mentioned it to him later that day. He said the same thing happened to him, but it never happened again. I went back and started the hot water heater again, and have not had any problems since.

Plan to camp around Yellowstone. We prefer sites with electric and water. Clean shower house is a must have.

We have camped in Yellowstone twice with conventional travel trailers. Always stayed at the Fishing Bridge RV campground. As campgrounds go it's quite crowded, but it's the only place in the park with hookups. There are several campgrounds in the park that will accommodate your Aframe, but you will have to dry camp. There are also several campgrounds outside the park that have hookups, including a couple in Grand Teton. If you decide to camp outside the park, be aware that you will be traveling further/using more gas to get anywhere in the park. You will have the advantage of buying gas at a much cheaper price at stations outside the park, however.

As a follow up, I said the Fishing Bridge RV campground is crowded. Specifically, the spaces are VERY close together.

Oddly enough, on both of our trips I found that we got our best gas mileage in Wyoming, and not by a little - around 10% better.

Lastly, if you are going to the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore area, Custer State Park is not to be missed. The wildlife loop road is fun and interesting. Bison are there in abundance and you will probably be stopped at least once while they are crossing the road.
