Ice storm overnite in Virginia caused me to start late, 10 am,.,,,,drove through the rest of Virginia and tennessee, camping tonite at KOA Lookout Mountain, Trenton GA, at the juncture of Tenn., Ga, and Alabama.......400 miles to Henderson State Park in Destin, FL, on the coast, panhandle ! Might do it all tomorrow, unless I stop at the casino in Montgomery, haha..
Getting about 15-16mpg with my tacoma pulling my a122, usually get 20mpg, not too bad !

Here are a few pics I took as the sun was goin down at the KOA.

Looking good. It sounds like you're having a great time! If you have a smart phone or iPad we used two great apps to track mileage and expenses last summer on our Iowa to Alaska trip--Road Trip HD kept track of all our truck costs and gave us our average mileage. We were pleased to average 15 mph with our older Silverado. fxBudget helped us keep track of every penny we spent on our 10-week adventure. We knew we couldn't overspend our budget and it kept us on track. It even handled the exchange rate.

Enjoy! Just a few months and we'll all be on the road. Was walking in one of our pretty state parks this weekend and it got me thinking we ought to be out there.

Awesome posts ... keep them coming ...
some stuff that you want to do upon your arrival back home ...
if over the warrentee marker for your transmission, transfer case, and both driving diff ... change them out ... with manufacturers suggested synthetics ....
if not over the mileage marker ... change them right on time with the lubs ...

enjoy reading your posts ... d-mo

Hey guys, arrived yesterday at Henderson State Park, Destin , Fl. in the panhandle yesterday. It was 75 when i arrived ! Incredible park/campground, one of the nicest I have ever seen, gorgeous beach too. Big storm went through today, huge waves and wind......the camper was nice and cozy though! I am here til saturday. Supposed to drop to 31 tomorrow nite though, do I need to drain all water? Oh here are some pics.

Yes, 4 days from cape cod to Destin Florida.......350 to 450 miles per day, very comfortably, I might add, doing 60ish give or take a few. Yes, Pennsylvannia was 3 degrees on 81 when I left it early on my second day!

I stopped at the Pilot Flyin J's all the way ,almost exclusively, they had the best prices.......Saw 3.03 in Virginia , where the gas prices were the lowest........!!
Damn, two days from PA to florida.........my days of doing that kind of driving are gone (lightweight here, ha)
Anyways have a safe trip BOB, keep in touch, where are u stayin in Florida, i know u told me, but, i forgot ?

stoping over at faver-dykes sp near st augustine, then down to kw, then up to grayton beach sp for 2 weeks, maybe then back over to faver for a week, that will be bit more than a month and hopefully I will avoid the worst of the weather heading back north,, try checking out MANATEE SPRINGS SP, nice place and often has openings, if the manatees are there they are super cool!

Fortunatley I am retired military and the naval air station has a huge overflow camping area if regular sites are full, which they probably will be, but there are a number of civilian retail campgrounds, but I would only go down with an advanced reservation, but I THINK you can get one if you try,,,, ENJOY, I am so stooooooked to leave!

You can try Curry Hammick St.Pk. in Marathon Key. About an hour from Key West or Bahia Honda St. Pk. Also in the Panhandle check out Topsail Hill Preserve St. Pk. Henderson used to be our favorite until we found this gem. Fort clinche near Jacksonville is nice too. St. Joseph used to be nice too. Haven't been there for a few years.
