New AFrame

I introduced myself in another thread last week, but today I took possession of my new Rockwood A122BH. Really happy and have a feeling I have a large learning curve ahead of me.

I did managed to get it into the diveway without destroying the camper, the tree, or my garage, so that's a start

Congrats on the new camper! Its nice having the extra storage up front. We've taken ours on a trip earlier this month, and it was great. The only problem we had was on the window on the door. There was a little tiny gap that had no sealant, which allowed just a few drops of water to come into the camper during a thunderstorm. Easy enough fix though. Other than that, everything else was great. Enjoy!

Good times ahead! The front storage looks like it will be very useful.

Great pictures - thanks for sharing! While I don't have an A-frame there's a little spot in my heart for them. I almost got one but it wasn't a FR unit.

Happy camping!

Maybe a dumb question but we are still FR newbies... What is the tall bars behind your propane tanks? We have the "mini deck" but our doesn't have whatever that is.
Thanks and Welcome to the group.

It's a bike carrier made by ProRac.

Ask and ye shall receive. I just hooked one up one bike for example photos.

There's also a tie-down strap that wraps around the seat stem and attaches to the rack mount to prevent movement of the rear, but I didn't attach that for the photos. I'd probably also need to remove the front fender for travel - not sure how well it would fair in the wind.

Thanks. Interested to see how it works out on your next trip. The main complaints I see on this product is price, cheap straps, and the rear wheel sliding (causing scuff marks). I have model 2011 A122 which doesn't have bubble windows to worry about.

These proracks are expensive, but very well engineered units, i have the tonneau/rack system from them for my truck .. which i mount the bikes and canoe. No issues. One thing to note tho .. you may get some whistling from the hollowed out insert in both the upside and downside of the bar rack itself. Just use the supplied foam sealer insert to stop the noise ... took me a day or two to figure that out, and to find where the installer hid the foam insert.

cheers ... d-mo

As for where to get it, you can find it on Amazon. (Amazon.com: Pro Rac Systems Inc. Tent Trailer 4 - Bike Carrier: Automotive). It IS expensive, but it is very well constructed and a practical way to mount 4 bikes (or six if you get an extender). Note that it does add weight to the tongue however. I use a WDH so I was less concerned.

You'd definitely do not want the rear tire resting on top of the windows - bubble type or not, but you can adjust where the rear wheels "land" by how far forward you attach the front to the tongue frame.

The rear wheel shouldn't slide, because you tie it down tight with a pair of straps. The rack kit also comes with some invisible protective film that you apply to the RV where the tires rest so that it won't scuff the top. I haven't put them on yet as I won't be camping with bikes this weekend. I'll probably do so next weekend, however. There is also an option for some pads you can attach for the rear wheel, but I don't know how useful they are (ProRac Tire Pad Kit (2 tire pads): Amazon.com: Sports & Outdoors).
