New Dormer Hardside Floorplan Coming

I went to the FR factory today. The rep brought out a new Rockwood A214HW. This is the Floorplan with the dormer and front kitchen. This particular unit had a feature that I know some of you will like. Instead of the toilet / shower enclosure on the right hand side, they are also offering a Floorplan that has a u-shaped countertop with standard cabinets instead of the bath components.
I wish I had taken a picture, but FR is in the process of redoing their literature, so I'm sure you will be able to see it online.

Did they give you any idea when the new brochures would be available online?

I've had a mixed feeling about dormers after seeing them on AFrames from other manufacturers. Extra head space vs. extra setup and strike time. And having to deal with tenting again vs. the quietness of the all hardwall interior.

It will be interesting to see how they do it.

asbrand,

The gentleman that I spoke to said that he was actually in the process of updating the brochures. I actually asked him when they would be ready and unfortunately, he was unable to give me a date. But he did say it should be relatively soon.

Rockwood's current dormer hard side, the A214HW, is all hard side, including the dormer. When I was at the Forest River factory on Monday, the representative I talked to, brought one up from the back. I watched him set it up completely. It only took an extra minute maximum to set up the dormer section. Every section is made out of the same hard side material as the main coach. No canvas whatsoever, unlike the A-liner version.

I wonder how well those hold up against water leakage in a rainstorm, as compared to the skylights.

Nice, thanks Brimare57 for the info. That sounds like a smooth setup.

This particular model has been out for over a year. Perhaps one of our fellow camper who owns one will answer that for us.
