New Hardside Floorplan for2017

I just discovered a pic of the new Rockwood Aframe floorplan. It is very similar to the A214HW, but the toilet and shower have been replaced with more cabinets to make a u-shaped kitchen.

Interesting. I don't see a microwave in the kitchen area, so either they eliminated that also, or it is still on the cabinet next to the door.

The microwave is in the cabinet next to the door.

Seems like a rather silly place for it, since they made the entire end into a kitchen. *shrug*

Cool that they are adding new floor plans though!

The floor Plan for the Flagstaff is T21FKHW. Saw it at the FROG. Ungodlly amount of cabinet space, great for two., Table really sucks so first MOD to be made replace it.

Still would like the A213HW floor plan to have 4-5in longer twin beds... I expect the beds could be a bit wider and work as well... The cassette toilet is a must have for me... so it can be optimized for 2 and the added 3rd in separate sleep areas..

I actually have a A213HW on order. Like you, I wanted the cassette toilet. I have seen these units in person and I love it. The twin beds can be converted into one king size bed. I can't wait for it to come in.

Even though I'm a single guy, I want the A213HW as well. Mainly for the cassette toilet. I've been a tent-only camping kinda guy for 30+ years, and I'm tired of having to wake up in the middle of the night to answer nature's call...having to get dressed (especially in cold weather) to traipse to the port-a-john or bathroom. And I'll have a spare bed for anyone who needs crash space.

I really like this new plan but why didn't they take the micro and put it in that large cabinet door above the converter? They could have then just given you a porta pottie to put where the micro is now. Love all the counter space this gives.

That's a great idea 61cubby. It seems like most of us appreciate the cassette toilet. You should submit your idea to Forest River. They might name the new unit after you - A261cubbyHW.

While we're talking about dream floorplans, I'd like to see the A212HW modified by adding the dinette/cassette toilet from the A213HW instead of the current 4 seat dinette. And to get more storage, eliminate the oven and replace it with a cabinet or drawers.

It seems like many buyers of these hardwalls are couples or singles and may not have a need for a 4 seat dinette but the cassette toilet brings more value than the one extra seat. Is my perception correct or not?

In addition, I'm 6'3 and the twin beds in the A213HW are a bit short and narrow but a queen would suit our needs perfect (like the A212HW) and it's a spring mattress (vs foam cushion) for more comfort too.

And who can't use more storage rather than an oven?

I could be all wrong but it would be perfect for the 2 of us.

Are you listening FR?

I agree Xmitsu10. The A212HW was my go to unit until FR came out with the 213. I am not quite as tall as you so the twin beds will work out.

You are so right about the oven. I have watched a ton of camper videos on YouTube and several times the person conducting the "walk through" has mentioned that some manufactures are eliminating the oven in trade for more storage.

I must be the odd one then...because I *really* want an oven. Don't care much about the microwave though.

So, I've seen several posts that several people who don't use the oven for baking or cooking use the oven for storage. Me, I intend to make use of it now that life is getting out of the way and we'll finally be able to use our new camper.

Modified A212HW

Here's my rough attempt to show what the modified A212HW floorplan would look like.

Oh yeah!
They could even go one step further. Put the stove on top of the refrigerator, like in the A213 HW, eliminate the microwave, then turn the cabinet there into a toilet / shower combo. (Might require moving the door over a bot to the front.)

another option that would add flexibility -- is a front storage deck versus the storage box.. that would give many possibilities
