Nice little television!

I just wanted to share that Best Buy has a pretty nice 19" TV currently on sale for $99.

I wanted a small TV with HDMI to hook up an iPad for movies, and for cable/broadcast if available.

The best part is that it runs off 12V! The power supply is just a wall adapter that puts out 12V, so I could run it off batteries pretty easily if needed.

Just a quick note, it rang up at $119, so make sure to check that you're getting the right price.

Ben, awesome info!

I purchased the 19" Insignia with the combo DVD player. It is a great little television! We use the Winegard amplified flat antenna

Do you have a model number, or manufacturer? I need one for my 5ver.

It's Insignia, but I don't have the model handy. It was the only 19" insignia they had though!

Here you go.

Insignia 19" Class 1812" Diag. LED 720p 60Hz HDTV NS-19E310A13 - Best Buy

Like most Insignia stuff, it will not win awards for cutting edge features, much less bleeding edge. But it looks suitable for the price and intended use.

Here is a link to the owners manual if that will help:

The power adapter for the TV is just a 12V wall transformer, so you should be able to build a plug to run it from 12V.

I don't think the manual really mentions that, it's just luck that this model runs from 12V!

We bought a 19" Insignia with built-in DVD for the bedroom. For the price you can't go wrong.

I just bought the same tv.
Just go to Radio Shack or electronic store and buy an adapter like this. Make sure the center of the plug is positive.
You can also hardware the plug. I opted for the cigarette lighter plug so I can use it other places.
It works great along with my homemade coat hanger antenna.
I pick up 17 channels here in the yard and we live on the coast. I left it on for over 15 hours and the battery never even got low.

12v TV

So I ran after I read this post to my local Best Buy and sure enough the TV runs on a converter (in the plug), but 12v. And Insignia also makes a 24in 12v if you want a slightly larger screen.
Thanks to this post I'm returning my $299 tv I bought last week and will go with the $99 idea. Now I just have to build a 12v plug to run it off my batteries.

Thanks for the post!

Great! I haven't even turned mine on yet, but hopefully this weekend I'll try it out in the camper.

I'll have to measure how much power it actually draws. The adapter says it can provide 2.5A, but maybe it's rated higher than the TV actually needs.

15 hours without a noticeable drop in your battery sounds pretty good!

According to the manual it's <1 watt on standby and 26 when running which was less than my Jensen from Camper World. (Nother reason I'm switching tv's.)
FYI...it's now dropped in price from $99.99 to $89.99 at Best Buy.
