No Aframe for me for a while

Spent the last 1 1/2 weeks in hospital. Had a small heart attack while working on the camper...not campers fault. They did a heart cath and said one main artery was 100% clogged and two branched arteries had to be cleaned out. Then they shipped me to St Lukes in HOuston where they did a double bypass.

Now dealing with a couple of other heart issues so will be down for several months. So I'll continue to live my Aframe camping through you folks.

At least I can go out in the garage and pet it when it gets lonesome.

I feel for you, I am completing 6 months chemo. Can't wait to get going again, but lack of warm weather has helped my mood. Hope your recovery passes quickly and your back on the road.

Glad you're still here to tell us about it. Camping will still be there waiting for you when you're able to go. Take care.

Oh please take care, David! You are lucky to have gotten fast care and attentive doctors! My uncle wasn't so lucky, at age 61, we lost him last week to unexpected heart attack. He was the picture of health. Sooo....You best follow what your doctors say! Live to camp another day!

Looks like you have some time while you recover, to plan those mods and scope out potential campgrounds to visit!

Use your heart shaped pillow when you need to cough or sneeze - they really help (hopefully they still give those out!) If they didn't give you one, find a small pillow that is somewhat firm and hug it to your chest - you wouldn't think that it would do much, but it really does. Don't push it, but stay active when you can - it will also help speed your recovery. Get well soon!

Will turn 65 April 1. Never had any problems and cardiologist said I was way too young and healthy to let this get me down. I'm one of those people that are never sick. I eat fairly well, rest, don't smoke or drink.

It can happen.

David, been through the heart attack and cardiac cath route, fortunately avoided the by-pass, so while I don't fully appreciate your situation, I have an idea of what you are going through. Hope your recovery and rehab go well, and that you can get back out and camping before long.

St. Lukes is a great place to go for your condition. We are lucky to live near such a facility and lucky to live in an era in which such good care exists at all. I am sure you'll be back in the swing of things in short order.

Thanks. I was just curious. you sounded young and 65 is nowadays. I`m 43 in April and somewhat healthy and maybe 20-30lbs more than what the doctor says I should be (I vary between 190-200), I`m very active too. I don`t know why, but it is sometimes in the back of my mind. I don`t really think about it until I read things like this. very scarry!

Very sorry to hear about your situation, I know you were excited for the coming season with the new rig.

We've had our a frame for a few years but I managed to break my arm and hip this winter falling on ice (I'm 48) so I'll be opting out of at least the spring season camping. I know the level of disappointment this delivers first hand so I completely sympathize with your situation. Concentrate in your rehabilitation and recovery now, that's most important and will ensure you are able to get back into the camper as soon as possible,

Good luck!
