Desi, my salesman called to day and we set an appointment for next Friday (24th) to pick up the new camper. The only caveat is they don't know the day it will arrive for sure, so the pick up may get pushed back to Saturday or the following week. I guess I need to get the nursery power washed this weekend for the new arrival. I wonder if my DW is prepared to join me for a weekend of camping with my new baby behind the garage? It is probably to late to get a reservation for Memorial weekend.

Glad to see you shopped around for the best deal and a dealership that respected you. Don't forget to write up that dealer with a positive review when all the details have been ironed out.

May all the rest of your dealing with Toppers be as smooth as closing the deal!

Best of luck with it too!

Yep, do a write up, I did and have gotten a few birddog payments since. Always good to know others benefit from your good experience. And some cash in the pocket is good too.

I called the dealer today to check on the status of my order. My salesman wasn't available, but the guy who answered the phone said I wasn't "on the board" for tomorrow.

So it looks like I'll be starting the cooking for Memorial weekend instead of getting to know our new arrival. I did get the storage area cleaned up and have filled all the crack in the concrete to stop ants from crawling around and bothering my baby.

So now I am in limbo, waiting on the salesman to set a new delivery date.

Man that stinks. They've had our camper for over four weeks now for some simple warranty work. I want it back! I'm considering showing up this Saturday to pick it up done or not and I'll just do the work myself.

You are more patient than me. I wouldnt be so easy on the dealer. My best friend wasnt when she took her TH to have new water pump put in hers. They said it would take 2 weeks. She said no way, not acceptable. They said they were waiting for approval of parts from FR. She was leaving for Alaska drive & could not wait. She told them to pull the parts off their parts shelves and fix it and THEY could work it out with FR. She was not accepting poor service and delays. She also needed a new microwave and the dealer had her unit fixed (also new microwave) in a few days with apologies.

Ironically it was this type of dealer "service" that led us away from a dealer, and ended up with a totally different trailer we like MUCH better.

Well I have two FR dealers in town. One I disliked dealing with so much that I went with the one located further away. I'd could have had a camper a few weeks ago from the disliked dealer. Perhaps my opinion of the salesman was an undue judgement on the whole dealership, but that is the decision I made, knowing that it would take a while for the trailer to come in. It is the shop service that concerns me more than a few weeks now, and I really have no way to know which would have been better except by the way the dealership handled me as a prospect. On that basis, I went with Toppers.

There are no totally different trailers available to me from another dealer, since an Ainer would not only be more expensive but also come from Toppers.
