No longer looking

I put a deposit down on an A122s today.

I talked to three dealers. The first was a visist to a local dealer last Friday. The salesman acted like I was doing him a favor, only not a big enough favor since he was not selling me a big rig. He also new very little about A Frames, but "corrected" me on several items that I had read on the brochure or seen for myself.

The second dealer was an out of town dealer who was within a days drive, there and back. The sales guy was helpful and he called me back with in a few hours with a great price. I am sorry I couldn't give him the business.

The third dealer was Toppers. "Local" by being about 40 miles from Houston. I spoke to the the sales guy, Desi, seven years ago when I wound up buying a used Niagara from an owner. I also saw him a few months ago on a visit to the store and said "Hello" passing in the hall. From this he remembered my name and when I go there to pick up the camper, I am sure he will remember my face.

Desi initially gave a middling price, but was willing to work when I told him I had a better offer. The response was a price that was higher but the difference was less than the cost of gas to go out of town, so we closed the deal today. We just missed the latest shipment form the factory, so I may have to wait a month or so for mine to come in.

Congrats! We got ours from Toppers too and felt like we got a decent price from them. I can't remember who our salesman was though.

Congratulations. We enjoyed the first camping experience in our A122S even more than we expected to. I hope we get to hear about your adventures in your new A-Frame.

To bide my time while waiting, I scraped and brushed my Bal leveler and put on a coat of rust reformer. The painting should be finished tomorrow.

Our salesman's last name was Porter, but I can't remember his first name either...
