Observation Camera
I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee tow vehicle for my A213HW and cannot see out my rear view mirror so I bought this camera to help. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to mount it and how

Rh, are you planning on using the camera for backing or driving?

Driving is the main reason for getting it

It B Did
I have installed the camera. The hardest part was making myself drill holes in my new camper. I removed the cover (held on by Velcro) on the inside to see where the roof hinge was. I then place the mounting bracket between the hinge and ceiling and drilled a pilot hole. I then went outside and use a 3/4" hole saw to finish the hole. on the inside in the right corner you can see the wires for running lights. I just tapped into those wires and replaced the cover. I have shown both the roof up and down positions. I was actually very easy.

Relooking at this...it now seems to be a pretty good idea.
I sometimes camp alone and it would certainly lower the risk of backing into campsites.

I do not have this camera but did mount a Furrion camera on my 21TBHW. Was able to do so without drilling any new holes. The way I did it was by replacing the middle marker light with the camera mounting hardware. Had to fabricate a small mounting plate but that was pretty easy. Doing so I was able to connect the camera to the marker light wiring. As long as my lights are on, and I always drive with my lights on, the camera works. Just got back from a 2 week trip and the system worked great.
This system has an added advantage. If by chance the trailer lights become disconnected the display goes out. Happened to us on our first trip and didn't realize it until we arrived home...with a destroyed wiring harness plug from dragging on the ground.

Great idea. Do you have pictures? I was going to buy the Furrion.

If you want to avoid drilling into the camper, just attach it to the bolt that hols the spare tire cover. Wouldnt be hard to rig up a bracket.

Here are some pics of the camera mounted to the center marker light area. I fabricated the mounting block out of oak and eventually painted it black. If you look closely at the mount you can see that it is beveled at about 8 degrees. Because the Furrion has such a wide view, when mounted flush to the trailer too much of the spare tire was in the view. You can also see that the back side of the mount is sanded slightly concave to match the curve of the trailer. The block was mounted using the original marker light screw holes and the camera mount was screwed to the block. I used clear silicon caulk to weatherproof.
Hope this helps.
