I was alerted to this by Chris Mendola, "The Aliner Doctor." Thanks Chris!

If you have a device that charges via USB this device will do it. Best thing: it plugs in on top of a standard outlet--no installation and can be moved from house to camper and back!

My first reaction was "great idea." Second, boy, this looks complicated. Third, happy when I read "no installation." Thanks ham.

OT: I have been meaning to ask you a follow-up question. In one of my earlier posts, you provided information on LED lights. Do the replacement bulbs just plug in? Or do they involve wiring?

Do you have a link for the Aliner Doctor? Sounds interesting.

I went out and got one of the outlets this morning. Don't know how well they work yet, though. I liked the fact that these were plug-in rather than wire-in installations also. I had seen another type of charger/outlet that wires in--that is, replaces an outlet--but people said that you would need to have a very deep outlet box in order to put them in. They also complained that they stopped working fairly soon. With this type being an RCA brand I hope it lasts longer.

The LED replacement lights that I bought have the same base as the original bulbs that came with the camper, so they're just a plug in replacement.

The aliner doctor is the pseudo-name of Chris Mendola, and I think he's a member of this forum although I don't recall his username. I got on his mailing list when I ordered the High Wind Kit from him. He can also be found on the Aliner and Chalet forum, which is a Yahoo Groups forum. I can post more specific info later. I'm late for lunch!

Wait! Here's his email: thriftytravelers@cox.net
(This is his business email so it's ok for me to give it out--he does.)

They've been popular sellers. There were only 4 left at Lowe's this a.m. With the millions of USB-charged devices out there, I'm sure we'll see this kind of thing all over the place soon--and cheaper.

Only drawback is the AC system in the AFrames needs shore power.

I'd love to see an inverted outlet or two (without needing to mod that is).

Has anyone added additional 110v outlets in more accessible places than under the dinette or halfway under the mattress (A122)?

I'm thinking of a few mods. One to create outlet for heated mattress and any elec blankets that might be in use somewhere under the bed where they could stay semi-perm plugged in and minimize cord clutter.
And then maybe a Popup countertop outlet stack which gets the plugs away from the mattress edge

Like this but perhaps not as fancy

I'm thinking of putting in an inverted outlet under the passenger-side seat this summer, along with an inverted outlet that is external as part of my solar addition. That counter-top one looks really nifty, though!

I got one of these as a gift last uear: http://m.brookstone.com/mt/www.brook...t_v_fulldesc=1

It goes with us camping. 9v battery will run an iPhone. And charges in 12v outlet or 120v outlet.

It will charge an iPad when in standby.

Not bad for an all in one.
