I've been looking into something to use beside blue tarps and came by this product: Prest-O-Fit 2-3000 Aero-Weave 6' X 15' Breathable Outdoor Mat
has anyone else had experience with this outdoor mat and/or could you recommend something else that is breathable, so you don't have to worry about laying it over grass or other living ground cover.
Here is the mat I use under my EZ Up canopy, as pictured looking out the A-Frame front door...It is woven and allows liquid to go thru, the typical matting allowed on the grass at the dog show showgrounds...and see, it rolls up nice and tidy in the rear storage compartment! LOL

Bought 6' x 32' ground cloth material from Beasley Mfg in Center Hill, FL for $2.50 linear ft and cut it into 16' strips, added grommets and stake it down with 10" gutter spikes when needed. Most times we don't need anything but the awning poles on the outside corners.
I just bought that 9x12 mat from Walmart. $45 and change. Very light and looks like it will fold and roll up really well for storage. Rained on it and water passed right thru.
Hello All,
Took a quick trip to Walmart to see the one you were talking about and, I was wondering are they slippery when wet?
RV awning mats.com had a color I liked. Decisions, Decisions ......what a wonderful life to have so many choices.

I have several mats but also brought the one you listed above. I like the concept & that it folds up small but it just doesn't work the best for me.
Great for grass but I don't camp on grass. I do a lot of beach campground camping and the dirt is hard with small rocks. I like the heavier mat that can be found at Walmart so I can walk barefoot on it too but usually wear some type of shoes anyway.
I ended up buying a third mat from CW that is like the Walmart mat but smaller and it works well for my use. However, I wished I had the larger size with me while camping directly on the sand at the beach on my last trip.

JoArt, did not really notice that it was slippery, but there is a lot of texture in the carpet to help any slickness. Plus it would seem to dry quickly
And if you go with the rv awning mats I recommend getting one of their bags to store it in. Put it away wet or muddy and it don't make a mess of the storage compartment plus it had a nice pocket for stakes

Good point. As for the Wal-Mart mat, we have been using ours for about a year, camping once a month, with no appreciable wear. I have never noticed it being slippery when wet. The velcro straps that hold it in the folded position do not work very well. I'm going to get one of the bags from CW to carry it in.
Hello All,
I purchased an outdoor mat at Camping World and since I was told to have a carrying case for the mat I purchased the Dimpa Bag from IKEA and cut it in the middle and extended it 15" to accommodate the outdoor mat. The Dimpa bag was about $4.00 and I had some extra oil cloth that I used for the expansion. Just another idea.
