Picking up trailer tomorrow
New to the forum and going to be a first time trailer owner. Selected an A-Frame trailer for our little family and we're super excited. Doing the inspection, orientation and pick up tomorrow. It's a Forest River Viking RBSTHW. Heading out for a short trip on Saturday.
Lots of info on these forums!

Enjoy. It is such a good feeling to take your first trip. We had to wait almost a month for our maiden voyage.

Im going to make a few predictions................
1. You and your family will Love it
2. It Won't be your last camper
3. You will eventually have had several (one at a time)
4. Each one will be a bit larger than the last one.

Make sure the brakes work. In 2012 we bought a new 2013 Aliner. Soon after I left the dealer I discovered the brakes didn't work at all. I turned around and brought it back. The mechanics couldn't figure out what the problem was and suddenly they went home for the evening leaving me at the closed dealership. Knowing how terribly bad dealer service is after the sale I carefully drove home (120 miles) and had my son take a look at it. The brake adjustments were backed all the way out and he had it fixed after about 1/2 hour. The dealer mechanics kept focusing on my brake controller which worked perfectly. I'm glad I DIDN'T leave the trailer there if they couldn't figure out the problem in the 2 hours they spent.

Thanks everyone! Wish I could say it went without a hitch (overused pun here?) but we had/have issues.
When we went through the trailer, we noticed large creases/dents on the inside ceiling on both sides of the large bubble window. Don't remember seeing those when we first viewed it in dealership. The service manager took photos and marked it on deficiency list. Said the whole wall/ceiling will be replaced.
After going through everything we were finally ready to leave and found out signal lights weren't working right. They would only work if the brake pedal was touched first. It wasn't a trailer problem. I have never towed before, so after a nervous drive hauling the trailer across the city through rush hour/construction traffic we made it to the place that installed hitch, 5 minutes before they close. Great place and they checked it and installed a power converter and all was good.
Finally made it home and set it up to start packing it with our stuff. After setting it up we see some big marks on both sides of inside ceiling. The marks were right through the paint. Some serious rubbing going on wen the trailer is down.
The service manager said the side to be replaced likely won't be here until the Fall so go ahead and use it until it comes in. Now I'm thinking both side will need replacing.
DW is still excited, we're heading out today. I'm a little nervous about what's going to happen now. I will call the service manager and send the photos as soon as they open. There were slight marks in these locations before that were noted on some paper work, but obviously hauling it shows there are some pressure points with something not aligning properly.
Sorry for long post. I'm still excited to go out, and so is my son who could care less about the black marks Let's hope the dealership will take the issue seriously, they have been great so far.
PastorGlen, congrats on the trailer, I'm sure your pickup will go well.
Sorry for the long post, I'll update on progress and go have some camping beers to see if I can ease my mind.

I think you may want to use some towels or blankets to protect the roof from rubbing on the sides during travel. Otherwise the roof may be in need of replacement also.

Congratulations
We just returned from our first trip in our 2016 T21DMHW. Camped a total of 15 nights in SC, WV, and PA. Great trip with minimal issues. Looking forward to our next trip!

You can use some white Rustoleum paint
to touch up those scuff marks.
I have used thick cardboard or panel foam between the closed roof panels to protect the panels from scuffing when crossing railroad tracks or on rough roads.
