Plank boards for dinette bed in A-Frame

Aside from being used as the platform to sleep on, the planks give versatility to the interior. Here 2 planks hold the dog crate and the other photo shows how one offers a temporary counter space to prep or clean in the kitchen area (plank is placed from sink counter to microwave counter) and lastly how one plank is used to hold baskets of frequently needed items (disposables, first aid, table lantern, snacks)

Handbuilder, how do you keep the three extra planks that aren't the shelf from falling?

Thus far, the planks sit pretty flush to the wall and the little space heater keeps them standing. If I don't take the heater, I angle the outside plank slightly so that it leans on the other two and keeps them all in place. One of these days I will place an unobtrusive attachment on the dining benches that will hold them in place but haven't found a pressing need for it yet.

When I travel, the planks are in bed position and I pack on top of them and below them, it gives two levels of storage enroute. (Clothes, fishing poles, food, etc)

Hello handbuilder: the planks idea was completed this weekend with the hubby ( i just used smooth, maple plywood instead)...endless possibilities now as hubby is thinking about composite table that weigh nothing as well so that we can take in and out of the trailer). The heavy table is now stored nicely under the kids' bed at home. Love it. Thank you for the idea.
