Propane for grill
Hi all,
I recently just posted about a switch for A192HW and the responses were quick and accurate. Thanks!
I have another issue I"m seeing with the propane for the outdoor grill. It hardly flows any propane through it and the wind quickly blows it out. To troubleshoot I confirmed I have a full tank of propane hooked up, and then I connected a portable propane tank directly to the grill and the grill works great. It has to be an issue with the flow to the grill.... very low. Anybody have a similar issue or any other troubleshooting tips?

It's a low flow system. If you are using the grill it came with, it should have adequate gas. If using a different grill, you'll need to get a low flow adapter to work with the on board quick connect system

Is this an aftermarket grill or one that came with your unit?
Is it hooked to a quick disconnect?
If aftermarket and hooked to a quick disconnect then you have two pressure regulators that are reducing the pressure way to much.

Its a Weber so I believe its aftermarket. I purchased the trailer used so not sure if its what came with it.
I assume from what was said that the grill that came with it has no pressure regulator since there is already one for the whole camper. This weber definitley has a pressure regulator on it which would make it a total of 2 cutting back on the flow.
I guess I"ll look for the original grill or a low flow adapter

Yes, the trailer quick connect is low pressure and your Weber is high pressure.

search this forum for propane gas grills... there are many posts about hooking your trailer low pressure system and adapting the Weber hi-pressure to it... you need to get rid of the Weber regulator and hook it directly to the low pressure hose on the trailer... or drag a 20# tank with you, which is what I did for 2 years

Depends on what type of Weber it is. The new Q series grills though 2200 are all low flow and use those little 16 ounce bottles.

Cody, I don't want to insult your intelligence, but I assume you turned the gas on where the line attaches to the grill?
Does CDory refer to the boat of the same name? We had a 22 Classic and loved it.

The 16 oz small LP bottles are considered high pressure and require a regulator. If it is a Weber Q it has a regulator. You can make up an adapter to remove the regulator and connect directly to your low pressure quick connect.

I ended up buying an Flame King RV grill which I have just used for the first time and and been happy with. Its nothing special but works. I chose not to convert the weber because I like how the mounts are for this application and secure to this grill so i will never have to worry about it falling.
Yes, of course the gas line was on, otherwise I would not have gotten any flow through the grill. I"m new to RV's/Camper trailers but the concept of having one regulator for everything inside makes complete sense.

I use the boat year round and I love it. Just got back from Catalina island 2 weeks ago.

Yep. We've been using the 4 pounders for tailgating for a few years now. Paid for its self the 1st year.
