Rain Water Leakage

My wife and I purchased a new A-122 about 18 months ago. Last week we towed it in torrential rain for the first time (2 hour trip). After arriving at the campground we quickly set up during a break in the precipitation. It was then we found the front cushions covering the folded table were soaked as was a portion of the mattress on the rear bed. In addition all window curtains were wet to some degree, water was standing on the floor, and the padded "head knocker" over the door was saturated.

There was no additional leakage after the trailer was set up although heavy rain returned for a few hours. My theory is that water leaked in on top of the folding sides and then traveled throughout the trailer...the question is....where is the leak? Yes, the fan vent was closed during the trip. We have an extended warranty but it will still cost us a $100 if I take the trailer to the dealer.

We too have had water in our A122S as you described. We thought it was because we had it parked with the camper folded down and on a slight hill with the front lower than the back. Other forum members state that when the camper is folded down, be sure to have the front higher than the back. Our camper is currently having service work down to repair leaking bubble windows. Forest River has approved replacing the caulk with 3M Extreme tape which is what Forest River puts on their A Frames sold in Canada.

Why are you paying (100$) to the Dealer if you have the F/R war? Youroo!!
