Removing ceiling light covers on A212HW

The bulbs are a bit too bright and I want to see if I can change them. Has anyone removed the ceiling light covers? I would like to know how so not to damage them.

thanks, Bob

Mine are like this (not led).

Just squeeze it in the middle of the lens and pull down.

Ford Idaho, mine are same shape, but different. I tried squeezing the lens and the body and was not able to get it off.

Hopefully someone who has my light will be able to help.

Mine slide outward from the switch and then drop down. So, I move mine outward from the switch about 1/8 inch and then they will just drop down.

Mine are the LED ones and its in an Oval lens cover and to remove you just use a knife between the holder and lens and pop it out with slight inward pressure to pop the tabs on the lens.

On mine I can see the tabs that hold in to the housing, this is where I squeeze at, you do need to do so hard.

Thanks everyone. I got it off. It is the lens cover just popping out of the holder.

Bad news - the LEDs are on a circuit board and it may be difficult to replace with dimmer LEDs. I will likely make an insert/filter that will reduce the intensity. This way I can easily remove it to get back to factory specs.

Squeeze and slide away from the center of the fixture. There is a tab, on mine at the end of the rounded end of the cover that has to clear the fixture so it will slide off. It takes a disconcerting amount of pressure, but the covers are made from tough plastic and can take it.

I exchanged the original incandescent bulbs that FR put in the fixture with LEDs last year and everything was fine, though the sockets were scorched from the heat of those lamps. They were quite hot. We were having flickering LEDs in one of them last week, so I decided to have a closer look. Right there on the Chinese fixture it says to use 921 lamps (LED) only, but FR had used cheap incandescents originally. It's a good thing we didn't have a fire from those things. I'm replacing the entire fixture now since either the switch has failed or the socket has carbon build-up that's creating the problem.

You could also consider wiring in a PWM dimmer to dim the light.
Dim when you need it or bright when you need it.
Something like **THIS**.

Hello.......

This is what I did about my lighting in our A212HW. The LED's are a great way to light it up the way you want. With the switch, you can make it as bright or dim as you want.

I also dislike those bright lights on my 2017 A192HW and would love to change them.
