Rockwood A-Frame Door

I just got my rockwood A-Frame last week and noticed theres a small indent with a circle mark at the top middle of the door.I looked when the roof panels are lowering but can't see where the roof would cause it.

Probably the rubber bumpers on roof panels that lay on the roof panel when lowered. The other one rests on the cabinet by door. People can use furniture felt pads that are sticky on one side to attach to the rubber bumper or in my case, I use a folded up wash cloth and lay on the first panel down and then on the cabinet by door. After extended rubbing on roof panel and cabinet top, a wear spot will begin to show. That happened on my last A Frame before I noticed wear spot on cabinet top. I am sure there are other ideas out there that people have used so maybe we will see some more.

I also noticed this on my Rockwood while camping this past weekend. Did not see any bumpers resting on this area when folding up to come home. I released some of the pressure on the two latches that secure the top when closed. Dont know if that will help.

Would there be a chance that the door might have been blown open by the wind or opened from the inside with more force than needed and swung open and hit one of the lift handles attached to the roof?
Went out and looked at mine and the roof assist handle would differently hit the door if the door stop at the bottom wasn't there. Maybe the door was not latched together and was swung open, I could see then the upper door half hitting the assist handle.
Just a thought you might want to look into. Can't see what else it could be.

Same exact location on my Rockwood. Door stop is in place and we have not been in any wind the week we were out and I first noticed it. I looked at it again today and cant figure it out. While putting it up .... lift motor went out. Only the 10th lift since taken ownership. Not to hijack but how does one go about getting a replacement under warranty?

This is the women that takes care of warrenty issues.
When my lift motor went out, she was very helpful and I had the replacement motor in four days. There was one difference, the plug in for the motor has to be installed in the outside of the camper. Not a big deal, took about 15 minutes to do it.
As far as the dent in the door, I'am at a loss.
Good Luck.

Have your campers VIN number, month and year of manufacture found on placard on side of camper.

I was at my dealer the other day and mentioned the door and they had a rockwood A-frame on hand and sure enough that one had the same indent on the upper door.

If that's the worst you have to worry about on the exterior you're in pretty good shape. My aluminum edging and even interior aluminum ceiling have abrasion marks all over the place. I have inspected and addressed the cause of some of them, but others I just let go... after over two years of relatively heavy use I'm not as worried about cosmetics anymore.

I found out what caused it.There's a rubber bumper on the middle of the ceiling when lowered rests on the top of the door.Been putting a folded hand towel over the door for now.

I found the same thing. Make sure when closed you do not tighten the two outside latches very tight. This compresses the top onto the door.
