Shelf under dining table

Mod-Shelf under the table near wall
Hello, I saw the Modification of making a removal shelf under the table that connects or just sits on the one bench seat to the other bench seat side. Does anyone remember this project?
I am not sure how to connect the shelf or what is a good width for the shelf without getting in the way of the one person (on each side) using the dinette.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Joart,

Here is a photo of a lipped shelf I made for under the table storage. If memory is correct, it's 10" wide. It's deep enough that it is supported off the wall bracket as well as the table rails.

I eventually removed the large cumbersome table and went with using a plank platform for bed support (as needed) and I use one of the planks for the shelf.

Shelf Project

Thanks for all the pictures. Just checking but the shelf just sits on top of the table rails? I hope do try this project next week.

That's how my shelf works. I also got some great bins at target the hold everything. We also replaced the table with a smaller model - I'll try and get some photos to share!

Shelf under dining table

Joart - As soon as I got the camper open, the thunder started rumbling so I only took a few quick pics so you get the idea. We've done quite a few other mods I want to share - maybe in another post!

Shelf Project

Well cut the board (used bookcase shelving material) Painted the shelf black on the white side(it was white on one side and wood "look" on the other). Now this weekend will try it out ( need to wait for the paint smell to leave).
Much, much easier than I thought it would be, since the rungs are already there. Photos coming. Thanks for all the great photos for everyone.

Shelf Project

Hopefully I am posting the final results of trail and error on the shelf under the dining room table project. The U cutout is for the factory table legs to "nest" into.
Like having the extra storage space.
