Skylight Protection During Storage

As we enter into hailstorm season in PA, I was having real concerns about protecting the skylights while in storage. My buddy is a contractor and helped me make large foam blocks out of industrial insulation foam.

The foam can be cut on a table saw and assembled with drywall screws. I also like that they keep the cover off the skylights, so less scratches over time.

I've added a full set of photos to my profile album, but here are a couple, you'll get the idea.

I think I will build a set of those covers to protect my windows form the tarp that covers my camper. Right now I use microfiber towels but they don't stay in place well.

I'd thought it was and googled it up. I don't do amateur radio to call N3XG, so I guess I'll take your kind offer and call you Rodney.

Cheers.

Tom

For a quick inexpensive solution, I use inverted storage containers with the split foam pipe insulation around the lip. Initially used to protect TV antenna ( non-fold down type) from cover full of snow, Work great, inexpensive and quick.
