Small portable campfire

Hello everyone,
As I am sitting at a campground that does not rent fire pits, I remembered someone on this site had a portable propane campfire. You had also posted a picture that was something like this.
http://www.adventurerv.net/little-re...re-p-3270.html

I am interested to see if anyone has one and what your thoughts are on them. Thanks!

I have bought one of these at Sam's Club and it works great. Has a lid that snaps on and keeps everything contained. I installed a high pressure Tee with disconnects on my front side bottle and run a 20' line to the pit. I actually bought a spare for when this one burns out.

STILL love my Lil Red Campfire.
I bought the "grill attachment" so I can use it at campgrounds that ban "open fires"

X2, Lou showing off his enticed me to buy one awhile back. It gives more of the ambience of a true wood campfire.

However, if you are looking for something to keep you warm, Little Red may not be the best choice.

I use the Little Red Campfire as well. Didn't think it would put out that much heat, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thumbs up!

Yes, Lou has cost me a lot of $ also showing off his Lil Red Campfire and numerous other items. I also had to get one. We'll try it out next week while camping in FL while he's scooping snow.

Little Red Campfire also. Going to get some glass beads/marbles to replace the faux logs and give that a try as well.

Let me know how that works out. My campfire is 5 years old and works great. The logs have held up well (even with marshmallow drippings from the grandkids).

Worry that marbles may shatter. Pyrex balls may be better: Borosilicate Glass Balls - Buy Glass Ball,Precision Glass Ball,Decoration Glass Ball Product on Alibaba.com

Were you so flabbergasted by OC's remark you said Alice, instead of Dorothy?

We have the Camco Lil' Red Campfire, too. It is available at Camping World, but we bought ours on Amazon, about $20 or $25 less than CW.

Love our Lil' Red Campfire too. I put some stakes in the ground in a semi-circle about a foot behind the LR Campfire to hold up one of those reflective sun protectors for car windshields. That deflects the heat out toward our camp chairs so we get more of the heat directed at us. My wife loves it.

Our Friends have the Little Red campfire as well and we used it 2 weeks ago on a trip where the weather got below 40 (HEY! That's COLD in the South )

The little red could not keep the circle (6 folks) really warm enough so one of the guys went over to his camp and brought back the "Nuiclear" Option: His Campfire in a Can.

WOW this sucker can put out some heat on high! We were all toasty! (And the hiss of gas is much less pronounced than on the Little Red)

So I took a look at Amazon when I got back and ...it is pricey!
Amazon.com: Campfire In A Can Portable Propane Outdoor Fire Pit Patio Heater: Sports & Outdoors

$299.00 - almost 3x the cost of the Little Red...I guess you get what you pay for...I have not bought one yet, but will monitor this thread!

I thought about that also and decided it would be better to just use a 20# cyl so we could set it up where ever we wanted. Can exchange the tanks just about anywhere.
