stereo ?

we have A128s the stereo worked fine last weekend , this week the power light glows red and pushing any button will not bring it to life . The stereo install manual shows an inline fuse ,but where would you find ,or access it ? These trailers would be nice to have wiring diagrams on ,has any one heard of model specific diagrams ?

Odds are you will need to pull it out and look in the back to find the fuse.

It would be nice but the answer is no, look to the owners manual if you have it or you can look it up online.

The stereo manual should help you out.

You can pull out the microwave oven to get to the back of the stereo and access all the wiring. Remove the screws from the panel around the oven and it will pull straight out.

Where the fuse is depends on how old your camper is and which type of stereo it has. My question though, from your description, is how is the power switch lit if the fuse is blown? It seems to warrant some further investigation.

Hello, before pulling the radio remove all power to do a hard reset.

thanks for all the great input , I know that it doesn't make much sense but , I also changed the light that is operated on a switch by the stereo and the climate control panel , I put in a 6 light led whuich only lights up 3 of the led's . I am by no means electrically inclined but this should have been a no brainer . So I'll try to reset the stereo and power down the works ,all main fuses are good ,so I'm fetching for a simple answer . Finding the wiring route ,or access is tough ,and little owners manual you get doesn't even list a manufacturer of the unit ?

The stereo power circuit does not go through the converter. So the way to completely power it down is to unplug the camper and disconnect the hot wire on the battery. It's easy enough and the "hard reset" is certainly worth a try.

It is also possible, though unlikely, that the new bulb is causing a problem. It is on the same circuit as is the outside light by the door. I put in an LED bulb into the night light with no problem at all. The bulb was too bright, so I deliberately damaged one of the emitters for a dimmer light.

Failing that, get yourself a multi meter and start checking the voltage. If you have a spare piece of romex or a long jumper cable, you can (carefully) bring the battery connection directly to the stereo and potentially eliminate a lot of questions about the camper wiring without pulling the stereo.

The actual stereo you have will depend on what year your A Frame was built. It is a help to others if you put the pertinent information about your camper and TV in the signature line. Follow this link.

My Kenwood radio "froze" - turning off the battery switch allowed it to reset and work normally. Even easier, I can reset by simply removing the faceplate and reinstall it.

Mine would do this every so often what would work on mine was pull the main fuse from the fuse box which was marked radio pul fuse reverse reinsert and it came on. A funny way to have to make it work. Now if you just put the fuse back with out reversing would not work go figure. Later RJD
