Angry Sticky CD Player

Help?! We have a Forest River Flagstaff (TB12). We took the camper out of storage and the front panel of the CD Player is sticky and rubbing off with black stuff. It's like the plastic is disintegrating. We tried rubbing alcohol, soap and water and vinegar. Nothing is working and its a nasty mess. Any suggestions?

I had something similar happen to a tv remote. It's definitely deteriorating. My remote that is. Good luck

You think a thin coat of clear fingernail polish might help. I'm not sure if it would address the root cause, but it should stop the stickiness and the mess. Just an idea.

Same thing happening to my Concertone ZX690 in a 2010 trailer - never exposed to any harsh cleaning chemicals, UV or climate. These are made in China, so who knows what they are made of!
