Stock grill

I have the stock grill in the box, never used. It's the type that slides on the rail. Thinking about using it this upcoming camping trip. However I do have a Coleman fold n go I can use in its place. Anybody with positive or negative experience with the stock grill?

I had to fix mine before I used it. Two screws had come loose or never been tightened. Other than that it worked fine first time we used it for hamburgers. I did ciokit off prior to its first actual use be turning up full blast for 10 minutes to cook off any residue from manufacturing. I use almond oil on the grill as well.

I didn't like mine at all. It's small and flimsy, and just doesn't get very hot.

I ended up getting a Weber Q1000 with a stand, and love it. I've been using it as my main grill at home because it works so well!

I have a BH, so I keep it secured on the front deck while traveling.

Stock grill

I'm not sure what Coleman grill you have, but the stock grill that comes with is designed for low pressure, using your quick connect on the side of the camper. Other grills won't work with the quick connect unless you remove the regulator. All this is assuming you wanted to utilize the propane line that pulls out of the side of the camper.

Same here didn't like mine at all, used it three times. Went to Home Depot got a Nexgrill Model 820-0033 it's a two burner 16,000 BTU ALL Stainless Steel. I removed the hose that came with it called my RV dealer they got me a hose that plugs into my RV works great. We have a folding table that the grill sits on next to the TV.

I have used mine for 2 years and couldn't be happier. I added a cast iron griddle and cook everything outside on the grill.

We use ours fairly often, it is OK but not the greatest as far as the way the burner and deflector is setup and quality. I am surprised someone has gotten 2 years use out of one, ours is less than a year and half old and is rusting out, the igniter is dead and some of the spot welds are breaking. I am looking right now for a replacement but I do like mounting it to the side of the TT so without modifying for that, there are only a few grills out there... Probably end up ordering a 2 burner and modify it to mount on the side of the TT. I will not order the same grill and would not recommend it to anyone. Oh yeah, and will probably have to modify the new grill for low pressure too.

Our Rock 2509s isn't here yet but I plan on ditching the grill it comes with and hooking up my Camp Chef Explorer. This system is amazing for camping! I have a griddle and BBQ box to go with it. I already bought the quick connect hose that replaces the regulator.

I'll post photos when the TT arrives.... whenever that might be *sigh*

I just bought the same setup for my new TT.
Trying to get used to it, on our current 6 week trip.

Camp Chef

One word of warning: The Camp Chef puts out a crazy 30,000 BTUs! I burned a number of things until I got the hang of it!

I've been very happy with the gas grill that came with the trailer. Only used it about a half dozen times though.

If I feel like going the charcoal route, I always bring this one along.

The grill that came with ours works great. The complaint we have is that the top shelf of the grill is too high and cannot close the grill with chicken pieces on it.

Anyone try this one? It's an "Aussie" grill and it's stainless steel with a black finish and already set for low pressure. It comes with the mount to the TT. Wondering how good is the burner setup. Maybe we'll go with this one instead of a 2 burner that will have to be modified. And the price seems very good at eTrailer...

My factory hang-on is garbage. It is slow to temp and cooks unevenly. I use the campfire or Weber Smokey Joe. I don't even lug the original around anymore.

We had the Sidekick grill with our Roo and it was fine for us.
grilled salmon, chicken, sausages, burgers and veggies.
But our new TracerAIR only came with a gas quick connection under the rear bumper and no rail for a grill.

to get another grill and a bumper swingarm for it, would've cost me $250.
I got a Camp Chef Explorer stove with grill box and griddle for $199.
much more versatile for less money.
