Suburban furnace igniting sporadically
Hello from Maine!
our vacation in our a122s at Acadia is going well except our Suburban NT-26SEQ is acting up. We are running on 20 amp service. Propane is fine (water heater and stove working well).
The furnace doesn't try to ignite most times, but every 7-8 times it "clicks" and fires up.
I've searched forums for anyone with this same sporadic issue, but haven't found this exact problem.
Anyone with any ideas for a possible campground fix? Keep in mind I am the least handy person around, but I do have some tools and can kick the trailer pretty hard.
Thanks

I had an issue with my furnace on a truck camper. Furnace was an Suburban or Atwood, cant remember but similar symptoms as your. Replaced my propane regulator that connects to the tank and fixed the issue.

I'm not sure I understand: do you want the furnace to light? or is it self ingniting? The reason I'm asking is that it's July: why do you need a furnace?

sounds like the sail switch is hanging up or fan speed is too low. can you do anything to boost 12v ??

furnace
I had a similar problem
Ended up the igniter was crimped onto the bracket and had loosened up and moved enough so the spark didn't always catch the gas. I removed the igniter, moved the sparked forward and recrimped it. Worked fine.

Furnace
The fan must start first to satisfy the sail switch before it will ignite. I had to replace my fan motor (two years old) it would not lite sometimes.

Could be the igniter is loose and loosing electrical connections or igniter is not positioned correctly. See page 29 of attached.

Suburban Furnace Igniting Sporatically
Same problem on a brand new 2403WS. Can be a real irritant on a cold morning. Anyway, the service tech found the problem, a cracked insulator on the igniter. It was giving us the same result as a cracked spark plug in a car, intermittent plug fire. Easy to fix, just have to take the furnace apart. Now the furnace is apart in the trailer galley, parts on order and reservations for next week. Any bets????

were thinking the "clicks" is the sail switch or gas valve. the insulator would not come into play.
