Temp regulator on water heater?

Is there a temp regulator on the water heater?

It's full of water, lit and I'm getting like warm water, but it won't get hot. Trying to troubleshoot it.

I've got a 2016 a122s. The manual lists 5 different models and I can't find the label that tells me which mine is.

Also, newbie question. If I'm on shore water, does the HW tank automatically fill?

Thanks for helping a first-timer ;-)

It sounds like you could have your bypass/crossover valves set incorrect. Most likely you still have the crossover valve still open from winterization, and it needs to be closed. See if this helps as this is a common problem.

Also if you have the Suburban brand water heater, this may help too:

If the crossover valve is correct, check to insure the outside shower faucets are not on. You can shut off the flow of water at the shower head and still have the faucets on. The WH temp is not adjustable unless you add an after market mod.

Thank you! I'm betting it's the crossover valve. Will check that ASAP. You guys are great....

Good to hear, Paula. You may not recall, but a few days ago I was trying to persuade you to read the Suburban water heater thread before you went camping, as your problem is extremely common especially amongst first time RV'ers.

Glad you got it all going.

Feel free to ask more questions as the need arises.

Me too

Yup my first trip out with my evo only had hot water for a few seconds then Luke warm. Turned out to be the bypass valve letting cold water in after the water heater. Changed the valve and now have hot water!!!

Thanks, wmtire,

I did read the instructions before we left, but it must have gone in one eye and out the other! LOL!!

When I de-winterized, I thought I had all the valves going in the right direction. What I should have done is read the instructions while I was looking at the water heater valves. Can't fix anything while sitting on the couch ;-)

Thanks again to all. First trip is almost in the books and it wasn't very painful at all!
