Top not latching down properly

The top of our A128 doesn't seem to be latching down straight. It's as if the bottom piece is too far askew and lines up on top of the door. This has caused the gasket to peel away from the top of course.

Is there that much flex in the tops? Or is it bent?

I might be chasing the wrong thing...anyone else have this issue? I really noticed it as the latch on the door side is difficult to close.

Thanks!

Not sure I understand your post. I do find the back top ( or the top that drop down first) when lower rubs on the top of the bottom half of the door. I sometime have to pull it out and away from the door to get it to lower the last 1/4 inch, so I can latch it. But can not think of what gasket you could be talking about.

Perhaps I am using the wrong term...the black rubber piece that the actual wall butts up against on the roof.

I've experienced misalignment of the top when the camper is not level or if the stabilizers are down too hard. Either of those can twist the frame just a bit but particularly the stabilizers. "Too hard" can be an arbitrarily small amount of body lift from the stabilizer.

Another place to look is the lift assist springs on the inside. If one part is loose, the top could easily get misaligned. Look in each of the corners for a spring bar coming from the front or back wall that goes into a guide box along the side lip of the top.

i too have the same problem

2017 T21TBHW im not sure of the cause
but the roof is not closing down on the door side. I have to push down on the roof to get low enough to latch.
Also found roof rubbing on door frame at top. Looking at the problem found roof misaligned causing the door frame to hit.

superal,
Did you make a repair or have you just "lived with it" as I have?
If you re-aligned the roof, how did you do it?

Roof rubbing on door frame at top seems to happen frequently even if roof is properly aligned. My A122 had no alignment issues, but I got the black marks on the back roof interior from the door frame plastic and rubber anyway. I started putting dish towels on door frame before I lowered roof. I also put dish towel where the peak of the door side sits on the window of the left side.

When I bought the new T21TBHW last summer, dealer suggested the dish towels in the same spots during the PDI. Again, I have no alignment issues with the roof, but I think the bouncing and flexing on the road is enough to cause contact at those points. The buttons FR provides aren't enough protection IMHO.

just our experiences
