Torsion bar

I have one broken torsion bar (for lifting the roof) on my 2012 Rockwood A128S A-frame. What's involved to replace it and what might it cost to have a dealer do this?

The dealer would certainly be the place to buy the spring. If you bought the extended warranty, it may be covered. Otherwise it may take some work.

I can only speculate but it would seem that the roof haves would have to be separated and the affected side raised until it take the tension off the spring. If that is what is required. I'd be sure to do it inside with some help. Depending on the cost, you might want to do both springs on the side at the same time.

It looks like a pretty easy fix. On the Aliner owners site there is a step by step with pictures on how to replace the roof springs. The web site is Aliner Owners Club, look in the DIY section.

That is a well written report.

Process would be similar to Aliner but keep in mind F.R. uses torsion bars and not springs as aliner does. Bungees are about the same.
