Towing with Tacoma

Anyone tow their A Frame with a Tacoma? I'm looking at a 2009, V6, 236 Hp, 266 Ft/Lb torque. Can't seem to find the actual tow capacity on this vehicle. I have an A128S, loaded up probably weighs close to 3000 lbs.
'Thanks
Harvey

Towing with Tacoma

Your towing capacity with tow package should be 6500 pounds. It would two that camper great.

no problem

Should not be a problem. We towed a pop up that was nearly 3000 lbs. Depends on the tacoma you have, check the tow capacity If it sags your truck, get a weight distribution hitch. Im using a harbor freight special and I have rooadmaster active suspension, now towing a roo 21dk and its 4000 dry, salesperson said I couldnt do it and buy an a frame, he lost the sale and I went someplace else. I used to tow that pop up with a 2014 4cyl access cab, it was a dog. Upgraded to a 2014 DCLB sport with tow package.

wd hitch

You should invest in a wd hitch at 3000, even that will sag a tacoma, soft suspension. Just read thru the manual on towing. It does say 10o0 lbs, brakes, 3000 lbs dual axel, at 5k weight distribution hitch on a 14. Really depends on the year and model.

Mine was in the owners manual. Of course you have to reference the specific model number on your b pillar frame sticker when you open your drivers door. I believe on the Tacoma the have a "with tow package / without tow package" column. I was in doubt and took a photo into the Toyota dealer who confirmed which package I had.

I really wouldnt worry about it...have an 08 nissan frontier and iit tows this camper very well.
Not totally familiar with the taco...but it should have leaf springs in the back...witha helper leaf that should support any issues.
Keep it tuned...change all drivetrain fluids with the recommended ...and you should have zero problems....they are a very well built mid size truck

We tow our a-frame, t12bh, with a 2006 Tacoma and barely feel it behind us (well maybe a little up a mountain pass ). No problems at all!
