Trouble getting away

Anybody else having trouble squeezing in a camping trip? We were on fire at the start of the season reeling off 8 nights in short order. Lately, I've been so busy with Real Estate classes/exams and kids stuff that the camper is feeling abandoned. I hope it's feelings aren't hurt. I am thinking of pulling it out onto the driveway and throwing it up just to show some love.

I had envisioned 25 nights a year so we'll have a little ground to make up....especially this fall. Hope everyone has the wind in their hair and are racking up lots of nights camped.

Yup. We've been out 16 nights so far, with four more next weekend. Baby number 3 is due in 38 days, so we'll have to take at least one weekend off from camping ....... Hopefully we can get out a bunch yet this fall too.
Enjoy every bit of it!

Wow!...16 nights is pretty strong with young ones. Congrats on your pending addition.

I envisioned atleast one trip a month, so far I have not been able to as well - we only have 7 nights under our belt for this year - Last year I did 37 so I feel your pain on being too busy.

We'll just have to finish strong. The "Blackberry Winter" that has come through this weekend is really making it rough not being out there though.

We're in the same boat. I was also trying for once a month. We've been out once for 4 nights so far over Memorial Day weekend and I had to cancel one trip in early May for 3 nights.

But, we should make it up shortly with 9 nights at end of June and 6 nights at end of July.

Ohhhhhh yes....6-9 nighters will surely catch you up in a hurry. I have yet to get away for that length of time. I can imagine your just about "native" after that many days..lol.

Last year we stayed for 10 days at a camp with full hookups and it's only about 15 min away. My wife is a teacher, so she has Summers off while I slave away all year. ;( we can camp and drive back and forth to work. Best part is, I serve on a board at the camp and do tree and maint work there so camping is freeee! And it's quiet. If anyone is traveling through central Nebraska and needs a nice place to stop for a few days, pm me.

Like I said, enjoy every opportunity to get out there

Have done 6 nights ourselves so far but our Grand Canyon trip is coming up in two weeks and we will be camping for 14 nights. Can't wait. Plan on at least 2-4 nights each month until it really cold.

So sorry to here everyone is having a hard time getting away. We have been out 46 nights so far. One of our favorite campgrounds is only about 20 miles from home and quiet, but since the city we live in is crazy busy all the time it's a nice change of pace and my husband is able to drive back and forth to work. Hope eveyones plans work out for them, wouldn't want your camper to feel lonely.

We have been talking about camping during the work week. It seems the weekends belong to anyone but us. We work together so commuting would be easy. We just need make it happen.

I feel for those wanting to get out, but are unable to for whatever reason. This time last year, we were waiting for delivery of our new TT and had not been able to take ANY days yet.

Trying to make up for nights lost last year lol. Fortunately, we are able to do the majority of our camping during the summer. DW works in the local school system and gets the summers off, and I telecommute fulltime, so we can take a few extended trips during the summer. Currently on night 9 of a 16 night trip. Headed to Myrtle Beach in the morning.

That's a lot like us. Being in Real Estate, weekends are work days so we have become "weekday warriors." It's kinda neat though... you get that playing hookie from school feeling camping during the week.

We have had some trouble getting away too. We actually prefer camping during the week days.

Gary and I are planning a short 3 night trip, while we have some time. After work, Sunday afternoon, we're taking off for Cave in Rock State Park in the Shawnee National Forest.

We're hoping to take a week long trip late in June, fingers crossed...
Let's us all post pics after we return from our upcoming camp outs.

We have 16 so far this year. We transfer to Philly in one week and be be camping for 15 days until the new house is ready. So we should have over 30 all said and done. I want to try and push for 40!
