Trying to winterize today.

Ok.. I have winterized a few travel trailers. . But this is the first time for my 2014 a122s. I found the low point drains and opened them. I found the bypass around the hot water heater. I bought one if those little kits to put antifreeze in and by pass the fresh water tank. Problem : I found the pump under the sink.. but it's enclosed. Not sure where to put the bypass kit in line.

Remove the enclosure. Kit should connect to pump input side. It is the white hose at front of pump on mine.

Bummer. You can install the kit at either the holding tank output tubing or the pump input tubing. his is predicated upon them being separated some distance and the most easiest to gain access to. Of course, if they are together and enclosed, good luck.

You will need to remove the front panel facing the door. I would cut a notch in the lower front corner before replacing it to have easy access next year. That is how my 2015 t12rb (same as the a122 I think) came.

Don't you have an inlet on the side near where city hookup is located?

Ok.. took a wider shot picture. I think this may be the hose from the water tank (if it's under the bed). .. the white one. Would I still need to remove the wooden enclosure?

Ok. This won't work.. there isn't room to install the cutoff switch without sawing out a big piece of the cabinet and the door. Or moving the pump. How do the geniuses at Rockwood expect you to get antifreeze into the lines.

Guess I just can't use this bypass winterizing kit.. I'm not gonna cut big holes in the cabinet and door. I'll just connect the antifreeze bottle manually every year when I winterize. Anyway it is what it is.

Post winterizing

After you set up your Water Heater bypass and drain the low points. shut off the low point drains, pour 2 gallons od winterizing fluid in your fresh water tank. turn on the water pump and pump the fluid thru your lines. Run your water pump until it runs dry. When done open low points again and remove drain plug in water heater to drain it. That is the way my instructions are on my 3050SF according to the manual. since it didn't come with a winterizing kit. Come camping season, just fill and flush your tank.

There isn't room to install the bypass fitting that came with the kit, but you should have room to remove the water inlet hose and temporarily hookup the hose that came with the kit and simply drop the end of the hose into the jug of antifreeze. My kit is a camco from amazon.

You will need to remove the anode rod to drain the water heater. I think it takes a 1 1/16 socket. Be sure to release the pressure valve first.

That's how I did it on my first TT. I would just add that when you flush it in the spring it would be best to clean the tank with bleach.

Did mine yesterday

I just pour 3 gallons of pink RV antifreeze into the empty onboard tank and let the 12v pump circulate it throughout the system. I cut the water heater inlet and outlet off and open the bypass valve first. Then it's just turning on the sink faucets and shower faucets one at a time until they're running pure pink, depressurize the water heater and pull the drain plug/anode, fully drain the WH tank, and that's it.

Water heater drain plug

Yes, mine requires a 1-1/16th inch socket.

Just be glad you are not trying to winterize here today,,,
We got about 9" of Heave Wet Snow yesterday !!!

I was not able to find a good place on out Sunseeker to put a kit,,,
So I just dump 2 or 3 gallons of Antifreeze in the FW tank & pump it thru !!!

Thanks for all the replys. I just used the litte fill tube. Attached to the pump and into the antifreeze jug . Not room to install the kit. In the future I'll do it this way or put a few gallons of antifreeze in the fresh water tank.. that might be just as easy. Since I never use the fresh water tank I don't have to be concerned about rinsing it out in the spring. Idk.. I'll decide next winter.
