Valances not sticking

I have a Rockwood 192HW Aframe camper and we love it. Got it in May 2014. Have travel all over the country and could not be happier. However, recently I have had a problem with the roof valances not sticking. This seems to happen when it is hot outside- we live in Florida so that is not uncommon - or it is damp inside. I tried putting new velcro strips on the back and that worked fine until we were out last summer in some intense heat and they came unstuck again.

Two things: I guess I need to be sure to get all of the old adhesive off the roof before putting on the new strips. Has anyone had to do this and what worked for you. Would mineral spirits work? Secondly, perhaps I need a better quality velcro stripping. Any suggestions as to what would be best to use.

I'm sure I am not the only one this has happen to. Sure would love to hear from anyone that has had success in dealing with this problem.

Valences not sticking

MacJack, I assume that, by valences, you are referring to the little cloth drapes that run across both ends of the camper, covering up the roof hinges? If so, you should know that this is a problem that has been commented on abundantly. After doing all kinds of fooling around trying to get mine to stick on the A122S, I finally gave up and put little screws gently through the top of the drape in several places across the width of the trailer. That took care of the problem. Don't waste time fooling around with the velcro; it's useless, especially if you store stuff in the bed area during the day. Every time you store something up against the drape, it puts downward pressure on the velcro, pulling it loose eventually. You won't even notice the screws once they're in place and the drape won't come loose anymore.

I did the same as KDOT with 3 little screws on each since I did buy commercial Velcro and it did not work for long. Now its staying fine. I did put the screws in the wall Velcro so I could remove it when needed.
