valve on fresh water tank

Sorry, no pic...A128s A Frame - I see a valve under the trailer next to the fresh water tank. It is not the tank drain valve. I am not sure if it is on the water fill line, or the line going to the water pump. It appears to be to allow air into the line if turned, or perhaps to allow connecting something to the valve nipple. Purpose of this valve?

Sounds like the winterizing line. Especially if it allows air into the pump suction when opened. You hook a small hose to it and stick it into a jug of antifreeze and the pump sucks the antifreeze directly from the jug and pumps it though the system.
