I think the wall is 1" thick, maybe a little more. The length would depend on the thickness of the plywood that you add to bridge between the studs. Can't remeber for sure what I used, 1" but no more than 1 1/4"

Never try to teach a pig to sing, it's a waste of time and annoys the hell out of the pig.
