Want toilet for my A122

When I purchased my Rockwood Premier I did not order the “factory installed “, just got a porta potty. Really want to install a fixed one (anchored to the floor). Does anyone know what the factory uses? Are there better alternatives? I assume the factory one is some type of “cartridge “ toilet?

The HW214 i was researching before I opted for a hard side TT has a removable cartridge below the toilet, built into an outside compartment for access. That was the best 'factory' toilet I saw for these trailers. Toilet sat in the shower pan, it was a 'wet bathroom'.

We - the wife and I - have a 2018 Flagstaff T21TBHW (check out the floor plan on FR website) that we've used extensively over the last two summers. It has the Thedford C200 CS cassette toilet built in. It suits us perfectly. With it you'll need an access door on the outside wall.
The only issue has been the water supply. It sprung a leak in an inaccessible (to me) spot. It was repaired by the dealer but we have opted to disconnect it from the water supply and use a plastic bottle with a small hole drilled in the cap for flushing. This method not only works better, it puts less water into the tank, allowing us to go longer between dumps.
Happy Camping,

We have a 2019 Flagstaff T21TBHW (same as Rockwood A213HW) with the cassette toilet built-in. We got the bigger camper for the toilet, the dormer, and the rear bed setup. My wife has been undergoing chemo, and some (not all) of the vault toilets in Colorado State Parks and US Forest Service campgrounds just aren't clean enough under the circumstances.

We previously owned a 2014 A122, and a couple of small cruising sailboats (22 and 25ft).

In an A122, I don't see that you will gain a whole lot from a cassette toilet vs a 2 piece portable toilet. A cassette toilet really needs to be built-in as in the A213, with water, 12V, and an exterior door to remove the cassette for emptying. You lose a dinette seat (seats one instead of 2) in the A213 for the toilet.

In the A122, if you locate at the front between the dinette seats, headroom becomes an issue. If you use part of the right side dinette seat - like the A213 - you will lose the rear door access to the under-seat storage. You would have to be careful with the height of the toilet install to keep the dinette seat usable or the bed conversion functionality. And without the exterior door, you have to remove the cassette from the front and carry it out the main door.

I would recommend instead a 2 piece portable toilet. These function much like a cassette without the permanent installation. Water in a top tank, and waste in the removable bottom.

Just my thoughts and experiences

Happy Camping,
That is our exact scenario. Small leak after we first had it out, had been so used to using the water bottle method for 5 years with the moveable portapotty in our canvas popup, it was no big deal to go right back to the same in our A Frame, same on as yours. We go skimpy on the water as well but we've never been anywhere long enough to need to dump it, so we add more water for the trip home, it mixes and dissolves everything really well on the drive, so much easier to dump after that. We've lucky in that we have two gas stations within two miles of our house so we get the camper put away and take the cassette out later to go dump.

As for the water bottle, use a big one with a squeeze spout! You get a good bit of force behind it when you spray the water out and then can close it back down.

Call me primitive, but to save valuable space I forgo the factory-supplied potty and just carry a plastic pail (good for many uses, such as a catch for the sink drain) and some heavy-duty plastic bag liners. I keep toilet paper and personal wipes in ziploc bags, with an extra for used items.

I have only had to use the system twice in 200 camping nights, but it works well for me.

Now, what I would really like is a foldable, storable inside shower enclosure. Using public restrooms 99 percent of the time for #1 and #2 works well, but for showers not so much.

Do you mean for inside the camper? There are pop-up shower enclosures for outside but you can't use those in campgrounds, you'd need somewhere for water to drain.
