Warped Plastic Storage Compartment
I recently noticed a bubble has formed in the plastic that forms the top of the storage compartment. Has the plastic just warped or maybe is has delaminated from the wall as well. I am guessing that the Colorado sun has caused this. Has anyone else seen this happen? I have a extended warranty and will surely have the dealer look into this.

Eeee.....i dont think your front storage can delaminate...im thinking this just a plastic topper. It almost looks like the hinged area has broken loose from the rivits.... crawl inside and have a look under the front valance...something must have caused this.

I can't really tell, but It has the "that just doesn't look right" appearance of a manufacturing defect to me. That might be one to get to the dealer for a warranty evaluation.

It looks like the screws that are in the black bar across the front miss the plastic and it is coming out from under the bar. The dealer should be able to fix.

You can fix that with a heat gun , hammer, and a case of beer.
Just kidding, forget the heat gun and hammer, just call the dealer for warranty work and then get a case of beer. I actually have the same camper and I checked to see if this was happening on mine, I have no sign of this issue and its the first time I`ve seen this problem posted.
They will get it fixed for you.

Following up on this as I finally got around to taking the camper to the dealer for warranty last month.
It turns out that the warped top compartment was caused by a failure in the front wall. It seems that an internal support in the front wall broke and the wall collapsed under the tension of the roof springs which caused the plastic top compartment to buckle. Sorry, I do not have pictures of the inside front wall that failed, but once I pulled back the valiance that covers the springs it was obvious what happened.
When I took the camper in to the dealer, I noticed that the rear roof section has starting to bow. It's not leaking, but others have had this issue so I asked them to look into that.
I talked to the dealer this morning and FR is going to warranty both issues under my extended warranty. However, the dealer said I would have to pay freight for the parts. About $150 for the new wall, springs and top cover for the compartment and $450 for the new rear roof section. Does this seem right???

May depend on how fast you want it. A number of posters have said they've avoided shipping costs by having the parts placed in a new RV that was being delivered to the dealer.

To me, FR should pay the shipping. It was their defective product. I would read your warranty in depth to see if it mentions something about shipping or coverage.
My experience with warranties varies. I have one vehicle that has had the engine replaced, two sets of heads and other parts. All of it was 100% under warranty. I paid nothing but my time and hassle. I had another warranty that was denied as I violated my warranty. I read the warranty and it had lots of gray areas left up to interpretation. One could read it as if the vehicle accelerator is at 100% throttle it voids warranty. Another person could read it as 100% throttle for extended periods voids warranty.
I say, be polite, read the warranty, contact forest river, talk with dealer and see what happens. I wish you the best of luck for a free warranty fix!

While I know what you mean, the extended warranty specifically excludes shipping. Think of it as a deductible on an auto extended warranty.

Glad to hear that! From you scenario it was the right thing for them to do.

Well the camper is still at the dealership waiting on parts. Not a big deal as it is not camping season in Colorado and I am saving on camper storage since it is sitting at the dealer. I got around to pulling out my warranty as I thought I had a 2 year extended warranty that would expire this March. It turns out I have lifetime optional warranty. The way I read it is the warranty extends the initial 12 month factory warranty and provides lifetime parts and labor with freight being covered for the first 3 years.
So....the dealership is doing what they are supposed to do by covering freight for the parts. However, the warranty makes no mention of the roof which they are replacing. So maybe they are taking care of me? Just thought I would share this information.
